Run. Run because you can't stop. Run because your life depends on it. There were only two options: run or die. And I couldn't die. Not today. Not ever.
I kept running even though I didn't know what from but I knew it was bad. I was nearly out of breath so I ran into the woods to take shelter. I could feel it drawing closer, trying to drag me in. The darkness.
Shifting and changing, the shadows haunted me and the trees twisted into sneering faces, mocking me. Exhausted and unable to carry on, I settled by a massive oak tree and slowly slipped into slumber. The last thing I saw before I blacked out was fire. Heading towards me.
