Prologue

I walked along the pavement gripping my umbrella which shielded me from the pouring rain. My feet splashed against small puddles. And in the corner of my eye I spotted a blonde girl all by herself. No umbrella, no jacket, not even pants. She wore a plain white tanktop with denim shorts. Her hair, clothes, everything was drenched. I decided to walk up to her, and cover her from the rain. She didn't turn her head towards me, nor avert her eyes to look at me. "I'm Ashton, you?" I introduced myself. It looked like I was just talking to a statue, I had a feeling she wouldn't even say a word. "I'm May." She replied. I was about to talk more, but my phone buzzed in my pocket. She was still settled along the sidewalk. It appeared to me that she didn't even notice that my phone rang. I gained possession of my phone and examined the caller ID, it was my friend Luke. I answered the call, and when I glanced at May,

She wasn't there.
