Fry tapped his roommate on the shoulder. "B-Bender?"
Bender's visor rised only slightly. "What?"
"I've done some thinking, and seeing Leela almost die really upset me. And if one of us dies, I want us to die in holy matrimony."
"Yeah yeah, all that mushy human shit. Just let me get some sleep." Bender muttered.
Fry opened the door to the living room. "Okay. Nice talking to ya."
"Whatever." Bender said as he pretended to fall back asleep. Oh no. The day has come. Damn it, I've tried for years and nothing's happened.
-----
A few days later, Fry took Bender to go pick out a ring for Leela. "I'm a little short on cash, so I only have two choices." Fry held up two diamond rings that looked identical for Bender.
"They're both lame. Why do humans feel the need to waste their money on these things, anyway? You can just steal it and it'll be fine as long as no cops are around." Bender said with crossed arms.
Fry sighed. "I'd spend all my money on this, Bender, because it's for the only person I want to spend my life with."
"Ouch, I'm right here! Why don't you just move in with Leela? She'll never be the one who knows you better than anyone else. And she definitely hasn't tried to stay in hell for all eternity just so you could live!" Bender was feeling ignored by Fry, but there was no way he'd tell him directly. So he took the Bender way out: make a scene in public, storm off, and cry when no one was there to hear it.
-----
"Amy, I'm a little stressed out. A little very stressed out." Fry said to the girl as he sat down on her couch.
Amy gave Fry a hug, "What is it?"
"I told Bender that I want to propose to Leela, and he caused a scene earlier today when we went ring shopping." He explained. "Something about how Leela never tried to stay in hell for all eternity just so I could live."
"That's odd.." Amy did some thinking. "I think I know Bender's problem."
"What is it?" Fry asked.
"It's probably better that you don't know."
----
"Bender?" Fry called out when he entered the apartment.
No reply. That was unusual of Bender.
Fry walked in the kitchen, only to see a paper on the counter instead of the robot.
I decided to go and get hammered with a bunch of floozies. Might not be back for a couple of days.
-Bender
P.S, how do you like THAT, huh? I'm doing something fun without you!
The human squinted at the note. "A couple of days? Now that's really unlike Bender. I better go find him."
Turns out there was another part to the letter Fry didn't see.
P.P.S, don't even bother to look for me! I'll be having too much fun!
"I'm really scared..."
-----
Bender's letter was partially a lie. He did go to the club with some floozies, but not to get hammered. Instead, he refused to even look at an alcoholic drink.
"Mister, you should really have a drink." A waitress said to Bender.
"No officer, you're not sober! I am!" Bender slurred.
"You sure you don't want a drink? It'll be on the house."
Bender fell down. "I don't want to buy your encyclopedias, you flying owl." He said before passing out.
