You know the thing about being around people who are in love all the time is it makes you realize, you shouldn't make out in front of people all the time. It's gross.
Not that I don't love Anne and Ben, they're terrific people and I couldn't be happier for them but honestly, if I have to deal with cancelled plans just because Ben has a better sex life than me again, I might break something.
Ben has always been my best friend, ever since birth. Or before birth, our moms met in Lamaze classes and hit it off. Ben's mom, Jen is sort of the opposite of my madre so it's weird they became so close. Madre came to America from Italy when she was seventeen. She lived in New York for a while before my father knocked her up and moved her to Minnesota where she couldn't escape.
None of the pregnancies stuck until me unfortunately. My father works at the hospital with Ben's Dad, Chris. I imagine Chris is the one who ultimately got his wife and my mom into class together.
Jen is tall, sporty and blond. She's sort of like the perfect soccer mom and she spends most of her time writing articles for various papers and magazines. She comes across very nosy but in the best possible way.
Ben and I were born twenty days apart and grew up like brothers. In sixth grade he met Anne and the rest has been history for those two. Anne didn't seem like much in sixth grade but she's sort of come into her own and it turns out she was worth all the wait Ben put in.
Anne is quiet and soft and too smiley for my taste. She laughs at everything and she is always happy. She is sort of short but she has the most amazing curves I've ever seen. She has crazy red hair, long and bright. Ben was into her when she was little and skinny and her teeth were too big for her.
But now he's staying the night in with her when we were supposed to go to this stupid party and I don't really want to go alone.
I always fuck up when I go alone.
