*Cameron's POV*

I sat in the waiting room, anxiously tapping my foot and adjusting the glasses on my nose, pushing them further up. The cat was staring at me on the receptionist's desk. It's green eyes was piercing through me and it was unnerving. I just wanted out of the school and I'd only been here ten minutes. I'd seen, when walking through the front gates, the type of physical training they do for self-defense class and there was the sub categories for it; hand to hand combat, teams, then there more sub categories for the next, depending on what kind of half you were. Hybrid, demigod, werewolf. If you were in my case. A half wolf shouldn't be afraid of the cat sitting and watching me. The receptionist was one of those stereotypical ones, with the glasses on the metal chain on her pink cardigan over a flowery blouse and those scary red talon-like nails. She tapped one key at a time when typing in effort to not break or chip her claws, blatantly ignoring both me and the cat. The cat had winked at me about half an hour ago causing me to be more on edge than I was already. More of this and I was going to have to get out my inhaler. I was trying to slow my breathing when the door to the waiting room burst open and I sat up in surprise, my lanky limbs knocking several magazines off the table. I picked them back up to see a teenage girl walk. Her all leather outfit was that of a resemblance to something someone wore when hunting. She had a raised eyebrow at me and I looked back down to the task of picking up the remainder of magazines.

"Fresh meat?" She turned asking the receptionist. I inner face-palmed myself for my great start to the new school.

"I dunno, Queenie hasn't seen him yet." the receptionist says without looking up. "Now that you're here can you take that thing you call a cat with you? It's been scaring off all her clients." the other girl rolled her eyes before scratching behind the cat's ears. But instead of purring it spoke.

"Well you're not great yourself, if anything it's you that's scaring them off with those fake acrylics." It hissed at the receptionist. She too rolled her eyes and dismissed the comment with a halfhearted flick of her wrist. "What about you boy? Do I scare you? Or is the tacky things on the end of those pathetic things she calls nails." the cat spoke smugly to me but shot a look at the receptionist on the last line.

"Well..." I said, pushing my glasses further up the bridge of my nose. "You're both out of the ordinary for me." I admitted. And the other girl smirked to her self and picked up the cat in her arms.

"So a total newbie then?" She says putting the cat down on the ground and he twirled his tail around her legs and rubbed his head against them.

"What?" I ask out of shock. And a bit of embarrassment.

"Werewolf. Right? You're gonna have a shock to your system come Monday morning. By the way students are required to be up at dawn for their first session. I suggest not being late. Instructors don't like being kept waiting."

"You gotta show some sympathy for them, some of them don't get used to it for a long time." The cat says to her looking up from his position of sitting on the floor. "Little hint, don't be one of those people that always show up late to class otherwise they'll kick your ass. Won't they? Vic?" he says flicking another quick glance at the girl. Victoria, I assume, not many other names have the nickname Vic.

"Sure well. Self-defense instructors are the worst when it comes to that sort of thing." She looks down at the cat with another signature smirk.

"Were you one of those who didn't adjust straight away?" I ask once more adjusting my glasses. A nervous habit of mine.

"Nope but she's one of those people that get pissed off." He says sending a worried glance at her. She smirks once more.

"You're an instructor?" I asked.

"Yep and don't be late." She says picking up the cat once more and walking out the door just as the receptionist tells me to go into the principals office now. I took one last long look at her as she walked out the same door she walked through when she came in. Before I walk into the office to meet my doom.
