I ran through the barrier dividing platform 9¾, and approached the Hogwarts express, my mom and dad beside me, "Have you got everything you need dear? Wand? Books?" asked my mom smiling at me. She always had a routine and kept track of things.
"Yes mom. I have everything." I replied giving her a hug around the waist which she returned. My mom was a short and a very kind but strict mom with bright blue eyes and blonde hair, on the other hand, my dad was tall and funny he enjoyed jokes and spent a lot of time with me.
I waved my parents goodbye as I boarded the train. I walked around looking for an apartment, I walked for 5 minutes until i found an apartment with only two people, a skinny pale boy with greasy hair and a girl with red hair and a kind expression, "Mind if I take a seat with you guys? That's if you don't mind!" I added quickly, "Oh why not! Come take a seat." the red headed girl said. She seemed extremely kind, I wondered if she had other friends other than the boy with greasy hair.
"Thank you very much," I said politely, "My names Ella Knights! Whats yours?" I asked excitedly, she looked at me and smiled then said, "Its nice to meet you Ella, I'm Lily Evans and this is Severus Snape." he pointed at the boy, and shook my hand then sat back down. We all talked until it was time to change into our robes.
The train stopped and we jumped of. "Firs' years!" a loud voice boomed. It wasn't hard to miss the man who shouted because he was huge! "O'er here! c'mon now!" all the fist years walked over to the man and he set us all into a row boat and we sail over to Hogwarts castle.
We walked to the front oak doors and a thin women escorted us too a a Hall, "I'm Professor McGonagal. Now you first years wait here silently and I shall call out your names to be sorted into your houses." she said sternly. I knew all about being sorted into a house. On my right, Lily had been bobbing up and down then she turned to me and said, in a fearful voice, "How are we going to be sorted? What if we have to do a spell?! Oh my I don't know them all and I need practice-"
"Lily! All we have to do is try on a hat!" at that she kept her mouth shut, but I'm guessing she didn't believe me
Our names were being called out to be sorted. I waited for my name a while after Lily's.
"Knights Ella!" Professor McGonagall bellowed, my head shot up, I then walked up to the 3 legged stool. I put the Sorting Hat on then a few seconds later it skrieked "GRYFINNDOR!" I stood up and gladly walked up to the Gryfinndor table. I took the seat next to Lily. Once the sorting was finished, Professor Dumbledore said some words and forbid us to enter the Forbidden Forest. The feast appeared and I gasped, all my favorite food were all piled up on golden platter.
"I should have believed you when you said all we had to do was try on a hat!" Lily chuckled as she piled her plate up with sausages and toast, "I its all new to you any way since you're muggleborn, and its nothing to be ashamed of." I added in case I offended her in anyway. Lily and I talked for the whole time, and it was time for bed. We were led to our dorms by the prefects. Its had been a long night and luckily Lily and I shared a dorm while 2 other girls, Alice Prewett & Molly Locksmith. I took the bunk and Lily insisted on the lower level of the bed. I lay in my sheets and fell asleep, tomorrow would be my first day at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardary. I had to be ready.
