XXX Dark Harbor, 1974 XXX

I'm gasping for breath as I continue to run into the night. The tall evergreen tree's whiz past me.

If only I could get away.

I stumble on an uprooted branch and it takes all of my reserved strength to get back to my feet and continue to sprint away.

"Seren!" David calls out. "Come back! This is all just a misunderstanding!"  He shouts to me.

I shake my head and keep running.

My bare feet hurt from running over rocks and brush, and my neck still throbs.

My feet falter when I realize that I'm at the edge of the cliff. I turn around to see David staring at me with his hands up in the air. "Seren." He says my name. "Get away from the cliff." He orders softly.

I shake my head. "What are you?" I ask my summer fling with a pant as my lungs try to recover.

David looks at me with sad pale eyes. "Seren, let's just get you home and we can discuss this in the morning after you've slept." He says calmly.

I shake my head in distraught. "You bit me!" I shriek.

I look down at my shirt and gaze at the blood that trickles from my neck.

David takes a few steps towards me, his pale blue eyes staring into mine.

What did I ever see in him?

Yes, he was charming, and funny.

But now, he was just a predator.

"Stay away!" I shout.

My body felt numb and I just wanted to fall to my knees. I take a moment to push my long tangled hair out of my face.

"Please David." I beg. "Just stay away from me." I plead.

His eyes have a scary glint to them, and I shake as I take a feel of the harsh harbor wind pick up and gust against my tired body. "Let's just get you away from the edge, okay, Babe?" He asks gently as he takes another step towards me.

I look away from David and look behind me to see that I was only two feet away from falling off.

When I look back towards David I see another person coming into view. My eyes take in  black hair and a set of emerald eyes.

"Mark?" I call out in relief.

I was so happy I was no longer alone with David. I take a step forward to get closer to him.

Mark's eyes hit mine and he looks at my neck. "David, let me take her back to her house." He says.

David looks over to Mark and I hear a horrible snarl sound in the air. "Stay out of this, wolf!"

I shake my head in confusion.

"I want to go with Mark." I whisper.

David's cold eyes hit mine. "You're not going anywhere with him, Seren." He orders.

I make timid steps towards Mark. "Please don't leave me alone with David." I whisper to Mark as tears fall freely down my face.

"YOURE NOT GOING WITH HIM, SEREN!" David screams out.

I shrink back and feel hard sobs escape my throat. I turn away from them and look towards the cliff. The current below was strong. I could see white water crash into the grey rock.

"Please, Mark."I beg. "I'm scared. David bit me." I whisper thinking back to when we were making out in David's car, and he started to suck on my neck. I only remember pain and the blood that was now dry on my chest.
