This story is mine. I wrote it therefore I own it. If anyone is to copy it charges will be put into place for doing so. Thanks RiaWrights
My life paper thin. My bones paper thin. My house paper thin. My town was paper thin the second the first hot ember hit the ground. I wasn't always like this you see, my life was good great even. Until the wildfires that had one consumed Fort McMurry and the surrounding towns moved on to mine. It was the worst thing I've ever seen. The blinding heat, power and rage bottled up into a deadly mix. The people running, ashes flying burning the surviving civilians skin. DBut the worst thing was my own best friend Josh getting trapped. The schools alarms went off blaring loud warning all of us our death was near. The vice-principle on the pa saying "Students this is not a drill! I repeat this is not a drill! Once you get out run!" Theoretically to protocol this wasn't supposed to happen for example the fire shouldn't have happened. The students were supposed to all line up outside and wait for the fire to be dealt with. But there isn't a protocol when the field and everything else around was set on fire too.

Josh was my kindergarten best friend. He protected me and I protected him. I remember it like it happened today, minutes ago. The school set on fire falling down on itself. One of the locker sets fell in front of us. We ran back down the corridor desperately hoping to be safe. But reality was a huge slap in the face when I realized no prince would want to come and save me. It was save yourself or be a casualty. We were almost at the door when we pasted the chemistry lab. Only twenty meters left. "Come on Josh! You and me we're almost." *BANG* "Out." I turned around to see a huge whole in the wall where the lab had been previously. The smell of chemicals filled the air, burning my lungs while I tried to breathe. Then I spotted Josh. On the ground just laying there. Every movie always said they looked pale when they where dying. I wished I could say the same for Josh. The ash stained his skin along with his clothes. I ran towards him. The whole building was collapsing but I didn't care. He was my 'brother'. "Josh!" Nothing but the cradles of the fire where to be heard. "Josh! It's not funny!Wake up! Josh wake up!"only the last echoes of my pleading voice were to be heard. I was on my knees balling to my deceased best friend. I tried to carry him but his six foot four frame was no patch for my five foot nine one. The lockers lockers kept falling down behind us . The heat scorching my legs. My lungs gasping for the same oxygen that the fire was feeding off. "J-Josh." Was the last word I had managed to get out before I started to run away from him. The steady streams of salty tears rolling down my face brought me back to the real world. The one that was going on now. I didn't really know where I was going or why but I was shoved into a shuttle then onto a private plane. To a place where I had no where to live. Back to a place where the bells on shops or at schools will be the vary trigger to my memories of Josh.

Hey! My first ever story here, I will update some more but I'm quite busy currently. Please comment on how you feel about this so far. Special thanks to cowpillowcase24 for encouraging me to put this on watt pad. ~RiaWrights.
