I was running through the alley sweating and panting. There were dark shadows chasing me and they wouldn't stop. When I looked up I saw that I was headed straight for a dead end. I frantically looked around, searching for any way out, but I couldn't see any clear way. As I was getting closer to the dead end, I started to slowly accept my fate. I was running as fast as I could and all of sudden I tripped over a cardboard box. As the shadows grew nearer I tried to get up and run, but I couldn't get up. It was as if there was a weight holding me down. As the shadows consumed me i woke up screaming and sweating in my bed. "It was just a bad dream." I thought to myself. I glanced at my clock and it read 3:37 a.m. I decided not to risk falling asleep and having that nightmare again, so I just decided to stay awake. I grabbed my dream journal from the bedside table, hoping that if I read some of my dreams then the thought of my nightmare would go away. When I opened my journal it was filled with all of the nightmares I had had for the past week. When I flipped through the journal I landed on a particular page with scribbled handwriting. When I looked closer it read "There's no escape".
