My name is Kai. Most people call me Kay. This was a nickname given to me by a teacher who could not pronounce names if it saved his life! Although, I like Kay better anyway. I am not known. I live in New York with an abusive dad, who always pays up when he hurts me while he's drunk. He's okay sober, though. I miss my mother. She used to be my only way to live. He killed her. And that's why I'm moving to Tulsa. My brother Bob was there. I was moving in with him because my father got the electric chair. I couldn't care less about father. He deserved it. He killed mom. He hurt me for 13 full years and nobody gave a hang. Except mom. Until now. I was fine with moving. It wasn't like New York tickled my fancy. I hated it, actually. The only reason I'm upset is because it has to be with Bob, my stupid rich brother. I hated him, too. He jumped innocent people. He shot a girl once, at some place where greasers hang out. He thought no one knew about it. Everyone did. No one would tell on him cuz everyone was so scared of him. Eff Bob. He was a jerk AND a murderer. But all my dad cared about is that I got away from him and his new girlfriend, Sally. I was packing my things while I thought about all this. I realized I was clenching my teeth with anger. Tulsa had to be better than with this son of a beep.
