The New Guy

My alarm clock blares the very annoying tone as I shut it off agrily and roll out of bed. I drag myself to the bathdoom and look at my ratty brunette hair and my grey eyes.

This is going to be a tough morning. I think to myself.

I spend a dreadful hour putting on makeup and fixing my hair which now cascades halfway down my back. I get into my lifted truck and head to school.

I see my two bestfriends, Ashlyn and Kai, coming in my direction with huge smiles on their faces. I walk towards them and they stare at me in the funniest way, I cant help but laugh.

"What's up with you guys?" I say to them.

"What do you mean what's up with us?! Only the hottest guy to walk the grounds of the Earth is at our school!" Ashlyn screeches.

"And your point is?" I ask her.

"You're going to date him Violet. Because you guys would look great together." Says Kai calmly.

I've always told these two that I had never planned on dating anybody. This comment seemed to make Kai a bit sad but he got over it. -He had always liked me since kindergarten- I never plan on dating because Ashlyn has told me horror stories of het break ups and she always ends up crying in my bed all night eating ice cream. The stories of actually being together with someone sounded great though.

I guess I'm scared to date anyone because I can't stand the thought of being let down again. Last year I was head over boots for Nick Harley, we dated for about 4 months before he left me for a slut. And I promise that when I tell you she is a slut, I am not exaggerating. She has seriously slept with 90% of the guys at my school. But anyway, Nick left me and I still cry when I go to bed.

"I don't want to date anybody anymore." I say to them.

"You can't just.. Never date anyone ever again." Says Ashlyn.

"Yes I can, and I will. Now I have to go to class before I'm late." I say to them as I walk away, and towards my chemistry class.

As I sit in chemistry class, I look around for Ryan Singleton, the "new guy" I finally spot him in the row of desks in front of me. He's turned around talking to another guy so I can see his features pretty well. He has dark brown hair that is cropped, a thin face with... Oh my god.... The most beautiful crystal blue eyes. Oh my gosh... I'm drooling over him. But I can't because he is probanly a fuckboy and if I date him, he will break my heart.

I look back down to my paper and proceed taking notes for the hideous formulaon the board. When I'm done writing it down, I look back at Ryan and he is looking at me... Our eyes meet and I quickly look away. I finally decided to avoid looking in his direction.

"I'm just sayin' that maybe I can sprinkle a little bit of cayenne pepper inside his pillow he just might get a swollen face." Says Ashlyn as we eat our lunches.

"Ok, but you do realize that Kai would never forgive you for doinf that to him." I say trying to hold back my giggles.

Ashlyn furrowz her eyebrows at me in defeat.

"Yea, maybe I shouldn't. I dont need to lose him as a friend." She exhales loudly.

"OH EM GEE!" Ashlyn whispers, "Don't look now, but Ryan Singleton is looking at you.. nah... STARING at you. Very intensly."

I turn around in search for Ryan and I spot him immediately. My face flushes with heat amd I know that I'm blushing. He looks at me amd he puts on a wicked smile that churns my stomach.

"Hey!" Ashlyn says while kicking my leg under the table. "I said, 'Don't look now' you know."

"Amd them you said, 'But Ryan Singleton is looking at you.' How do I not look?!" I ask her in a whining voice.

"Ummm. Dont turn around. Easy peasy." She shrugs

"DO I NEED TO CUT YOU BITCH?! THAT'S RYAN WE'RE TALKING ABOUT." I try to say to her quietly.

"True that." She says.

"Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god, oh my god, oh my god." Ashlyn says as her 'oh my gods' get higher pitched.

"What's your deal, Ashlyn?" I say as I furrow my eye brows.

"He is coming over here... right now." She screeches.

This time I don't turn around because I don't want to meet his eyes. Before I know it, there is a warm breath on my neck that sends a shiver down my back, causing my breath to hitch in my throat. I suddenly freez, to nervous to move.

"Sugar," He whispers in my ear, "How'd you get so fly?"

I let out an unsteady breath, I didn't know I was holding. I look over at him and our eyes meet.

He winks at me before saying, "Never mind that, Sugar, you've always been fly."

He stands back up and walks away. I think I'm going to faint.

My favorite part of this chapter is when Ryan whispers in Violets ear and says the lyrics the song.

I thought it was clever.

Sorry its soooo short too.
