Night Sky

Chapter one
I look out my bay window into the night sky staring at the stars and the midnight purple horizon.
"Wow...Beautiful."
I murmur quietly
The sky flashes with light repetitively until a burst of light blinds me and I trip over my bed and fall over my radio.
"W-w-what the heck was that?"
I stand up and crawl over my bed. Moving the curtain and staring into the sky I wonder what the heck just happened. When out of the blue a flashing neon yellow light burst a hole in the midnight purple sky and a huge flicker of green meteors shoots out of the hole.
"What the heck!!!!"
I grab my jacket and some boots and run out of my room.
"Mom....Dad...Kenny get up!!!!"
I run past each room and notice that i didn't receive a response. I become suspicious and walk into my parents and look over my mother's pillow.
"Mom...m-m-mom?"
I tug at the covers and nothing moves.
"Mom...Dad?"
I wait for about two seconds and completely yank the covers off of them.
"Ahhhhh!"
There lie two dead cows where my two parents should have been. I run to my dad's closet and go in his long trench coat.
"Where is it...Where the heck is it."
I feel around in the trench pockets and pull out my dad's pistol.
"Yes.....wait Kenny!"
I run and stumble past my room down the hall into my little brother Kenny's.
"Kenny...."
I run inside of the room and pull off his covers.
"Kenny!"
I see that Kenny had not been replaced with a cow so i punch him in his arm.
"Kenny!....Kenny!..."
"What!"
His high pitch scream fills me with relief. I run into his closet and grab some shoes and a jacket and i pick him up.
"What are you doing?"
Kenny yawns.
"Mom and Dad went code smoke on us and i'm following protocol."
I explain anxiously packing a bag of clothes for Kenny.
"Wait code smoke...tonight!"
"Yes i saw the flashes in the sky.. we have to move!"
Grabbing the small backpack and holding Kenny on my back i run into my room and begin to open my window.
"Sit here after you lock the door."
"Mh hum!"
Kenny runs to my room door as i struggle to open the window. When a pasty white foot stops the door from closing.
"We just want the human female there are plenty more on this planet so give her up!"
The voice shouts as he attempts to push the rest of his body through the already cracked door.
"Kenny!"
I run to the door and push it back snapping off the arm of the being who was there.
"Ow that really hurt now give us the girl or I'll use all of my strength to tear down this whole city!"
The arm twitches twice, jumps on to my neck and begins choking me.
"K-k-k-Kenny.... grab..grab the pistol!"
My face grows hot and begins turning reddish purple.
"Ok!"
"Shoot at the door!"
Kenny blows four holes into the door leaving the being on the floor.
"We don't have much time they regenerate!"
The arm falls off of my neck and I kick it.
"Wow i'm only seven years old and i already shot a gun!"
"Ok Kenny put the gun in my bag and lets
go!"
"Scarlet...what are those things?"
I look at Kenny and sigh.
"They're aliens."
We jump out of the window and flee the house quickly running into the midnight horizon.
