"A---------" I sang the vowel A up and down the scale. I worked my way up to where my voice couldn't go any higher. My water bottle was sitting up on the table, I reached for it and knocked it over. The water rushed out of the bottle and onto my phone. "Ahh shhhh---". I quickly grabbed my phone and got a bag of rice. I shoved my phone into it and let it sit in there. I fast walked over to the mess of H20 on the table. Towels soaked up the drips and wiped off the clear liquid. I re-filled my bottle and chugged down the water so fast you thought I'd choke. There was a buzz that came from the bag of rice. (Maybe it's shutting down)I thought. No. It kept buzzing, so I opened the bag, took out my phone, and opened it up. He was calling me. I swiped the screen and answered the call.
"Hey." I spoke up.
"Hey babe. What are you doing now?"
"Uh just cleaned up a water mess after I was practicing my voice."
"Knock over the water bottle again?"
"Yup."
"Rice?"
"You know it."
"Haha I taught you well."
"Oh yeah definitely. You should give yourself a pat on the back for that." I joked.
"Just did..." He responded with a smirk in his voice.
"Nice. Did you need to talk about anything?"
"Oh yeah right. Day, do you want to go to the movies with the gang? They said something in the group chat but you didn't see. Probably because your butter fingers screwed your phone."
"Ha. Ha. Ha. Very funny. And the movies... Maybe. It all depends on what David has planned performance wise."
"Right, I forgot about that. Sorry."
"No, it's fine. I mean we haven't really hung with the gang in a while so I guess I'll skip any schedule with Dave."
"Are you sure? I don't want you to get fired."
" I can't get fired. I'm the musician here...hello?"
"True true. Well I won't waste your time. I'll see you for lunch in a couple. I love you bear."
"I love you too honey, bye." I hung up with the sweetest taste in my mouth...maybe it was his honey.

Two hours passed with sounds of strained vocal cords, high pitched verbrato, and "Good night my someone". One of my favorite songs I love singing to Laken. Our song is played once a year on our one year anniversary. " State of Grace". I sit on the backyard swing with my acoustic guitar, and he sits on the soft grass looking up at me. My fingers pluck the notes and strum the cords as I sing our song. Its hard singing that song when all you want to do is smile at him. Most times I have to calm myself, but I get into the song so it goes smoothly. His eyes light up blue every time when I get to the chorus, and his smile widens. His dark brown hair moves with his body as he rocks side to side to the music. Oh how I long to sing it to him again. I have to wait 5 more months for that amazing day. 7/11/10. That was the date our relationship started...I remember it like it was yesterday...I was sitting on the bench at the park listening to music waiting for him to come study the big Chemistry exam. He texted me telling me to turn around and look down. So I did. I looked down to see a trail of rose petals leading somewhere. I was thinking to myself "what in the world? I followed the trail all the way down to the train tracks where the stream laid beside them. He was sitting in front of a big oak tree under the shade with something behind his back. I walked over to where he was and asked him what this was all about. He pulled from behind him a bouquet of purple iris with lilies(my favorite flowers). I took the bouquet and when I did he told me that I was the only one that he ever wants to be with. That only I complete his definition of love. And if he had to, he would wait forever and a day just to be with me. Then he asked if I would be his girlfriend. I was about in tears, of course I said yes. "From this moment on, you are mine and I am yours" that was my response. I've been with the most amazing guy for 3 years now and I'm the luckiest person to have him. I mean, when I met him, I knew that I'd love him forever. I said to him one day "when I say 'I love you', I'm really saying you are the best thing that happened to me and no matter what happens you'll always have a place in my heart". All things I said/say are true. When I look at him I'm just completely amazed, but not by the way he looks. It's because everything I've ever wanted is standing right in front of me. Huh...I guess dreams really do come true.

A knocking sound came from the front door. I put all my thoughts away and rushed to see who it was. I opened the door only to see Laken standing there in dark blue ripped jeans, a yellow, blue and gray plaid long sleeve fleece with gray vans. Hot.
" Hey are you ready to go eat?" He said with excitement.
"Yeah just gimme a sec. Come in and sit for a bit." I ran to my room and threw my closet door open. What to wear what to wear... It was nice outside but chilly and he wasn't necessarily dressed up fancy so maybe a dress down look. I quickly pulled out my ripped jeans with my white lifeguard sweatshirt and flip flops and put them on.
"DAY ARE YOU READY YET?" Laken yelled from the living room.
"HOLD ON IM COMING!" I screeched back while stumbling for my purse. I went from my room to the bathroom and quickly put my hair into a knot-bun and tied it once so it hung loose. Finally I stepped into the living room exhausted.
"Okay," I breathed. "Let's go." We walked to the car and went inside, me: drivers seat. I put the keys into the ignition and headed out of the drive way.
"So...where are we going?" I asked.
"I was thinking Red-Lobsters, but that's kinda a formal place and we aren't...well dressed for that."
"Right. How about we go down to the board walk and eat at Manco&Manco pizza? We aren't far from there."
"Uh earth to Daylyn, paparazzi? What will we do about them?" He looked at me like I'm stupid. I'm not stupid, I just wasn't thinking.
"Well we can put on a disguise. Lay low type thing."
"Last time that happened we ended up in the garbage disposal trying to run away from them. I don't really want to replay that scene again."
"Okay...how about a fast food restaurant? We can quick get our meal then go to the park and eat it. We can watch the sunset and..."
"Day?"
"Yes?" I asked confused. Did I say something?
"That's the perfect date. You are seriously made for me, you know that right?"
I smiled at him, "Don't you forget it honey."
"Trust me bear, I won't."
We came to a red light and sat there for a while. I turned to look at him but was suddenly stunned when his face was right in front of mine. I stared into his eyes...clear as glass. He moved in and kissed me with his hand on my cheek. Red light kisses.
