This was the summer of a life time. One that Rylie and Dustin will never forget. It was the summer they fell in love. It was the summer they took risks and valued the company of someone real. A person who would love them for eternity.
It was a normal July night. Crickets filled the silence as Rylie watched the stream of the river flow by. With the warm breeze blowing on her face and the light of the moon shining on her strawberry blonde hair, Rylie was sitting in the spot her mother showed her. The spot that made it easy to clear her mind. Surrounded by the trees and the river in front of her it was a perfect place to think of art. A dream she shared with her mother. Now that she is gone her father no longer supported.
Rylie and Dustin lived down the way from each other for years but never noticed each other. He is the tall dark headed boy with the sculptured body and broad shoulders who work on his fathers farm. He is the boy who always loved Rylie Evans. One night he worked up the courage to ask her out to a movie next Saturday night. He put on his tight wrangler jean and fitted button up shirt with his old worn out boots and drove to Rylies favorite spot.
He approached her with his palms all sweaty giving her a slight startle. Hoping the answer to the question he was about to ask was a simple yes. Anxiously awaiting her response, he stood there with the butterflies in his stomach. Minutes went by and he heard the sweet yet subtle Yes. As he filled with excitement and an unrelenting grin he says he will be there at 8 on Saturday. And with shock he would have never though a girl like Miss Rylie Evans would like a guy like him.
When the day came Dustin picked Rylie up and took her to dinner and then a movie. Over dinner they had short conversation where he listened to her speak and he looked at the way her eyes glimmer when she talked about art. When it is his turn to tell her about himself he seemed to be lost for words. After the movie Dustin lead Rylie back to his truck to take her home. The whole way back was pure silence.
Arriving back at her house he got out to walk her the door. Then in an instance they noticed themselves looking hopelessly in each others eyes. Knowing right then and there they knew they had found true love. Although little did she know this is how he looked at her just as he always had.
