Flashback
"Ellie, no matter what happens just know that the light inside of you will always keep you safe." My mother said.
" Mama what is happening?" I ask.
CRASH!!! I hear something fall.
" Look, My little light, I am going to have to go away for a while with your father so..." My mother tried to explain.
" Mom I am 15. I am not a little kid any more. Please tell me what is going on." I beg.
I hear another crash and my mother says," That is not important right now. All you need to know us that you are going to be the holder of light magic. Light magic is one of the only things that can defeat vampires. Don't trust any vampires. They will try to erase your memory, it will not work. You have to pretend that you don't remember anything they tell you not to remember, and you have to believe what I am saying. Trust me."
" I trust you mama." I say. My mother hugs and kisses me .
Bang!!! The door to the room we were in busts open.
My mother looks at me and says,"Your father and I love you."
I see a blurred figure come up to my mother at the speed of light and drain her of her blood.
I see her limp body fall to the floor.
I remember everything my mother had just told me, but the one thing that she had told me was to never trust vampires. I promised myself then I would always live by those words.
I look down at my mothers frail body. I loved her.
I look at the vampire who had just killed my mother. He had a smirk on his face.
Hate quickly fills the whole in my heart and I scream," Nooooooo!!!"
The vampire in front of me starts to burn. He starts to scream too.
When I finish screaming the vampire is dead, and my face is drenched with wet tears.
Hide, my mother had told me. I take the advise and run. Half way down the corridor of what was my parents house I see my father struggling on the floor.
" Papa!" I scream.
" Listen to me now... And listen to me very carefully." He says.
I start to sob," Ok papa."
My father looks at me and says," You have to leave this house now. Don't worry about me, all you have to know is that you are a lot more powerfully then you think."
A tears rolls down his cheek," I love y..." He starts to say, but then his body goes limp.
The realization that I had just lost both of my parents hits me. I start to sob, but then do as I was told. I run and hide.
I was found a few hours later, slashed across the back with something sharp, and then knocked out.
I woke up with my blood all around me, tied to a chair.
" Good you are awake." A female voice says.
I tall, skinny, pale and blond women walks up to me and looks me into the eyes.
I start to struggle against the ropes and the woman says," It is alright human, we will not hurt you. We just have to adjust your memory."
I start to sob.
The woman gentle takes my face and lifts it so my eyes meet hers. She was about to compel me. I had seen others being compelled but never experienced it.
The lady was about to start when I remembered I couldn't be compelled. My mother had told me that it wouldn't work and that I had to pretend .
" You will forget anything bad your parents ever told you about vampires." The women says.
I try to remember how the compelled people had acted so I repeated and said as blankly as I could," Yes, vampires are good."
" You will not remember that you had light magic." She says.
I nod.
" You will not remember your parents. I am your new mother, my two sons are now your brothers, and my husband is your new father." The women says with just the slightest bit of sadness in her voice.
A tear runs down my cheek and I says,"Ok mama."
Three years later
I look down at my phone and see a text from my mom.( not my real mother ) the text read," please come home tonight. Just a reminder, your vampire school training starts tomorrow."
I reply," Alright mama I might be a bit late because of work though."
A few minutes later she responds and says," That is alright, and one of the originals is staying at our home for a night."
I think to myself," Ugh! I hate originals. They don't like me because I am a human living in the vampire world."
I text back," Alright, I will see you soon."
Every five years the best trained vampires become originals. They get an upgrade in their speed and strength. Regular vampires feed on humans, have super speed, super hearing, and they heal pretty fast. They can be killed like any other human, however, deep cuts injuries can be healed. The nightly are vampires that can not come out during the day, they are stronger then regular vampires, they have super speed, super hearing and super strength, and they feed in both vampires and humans. To become a nightly you have to be a vampire and drain another vampire of their blood and kill them.
Anyway, my name is Ellie, and I am the only human the world of vampires.
