Amber the Gem

Far from home

It's your second day since you've gotten to the Earth and you've decided to stay near your pod which crashed in a prairie filled with strange sweet smelling plants . "Gems aren't supposed to be so soft Amber! Get up and stop moping already." You yell at your self. It's been a bit rough for you here since you've been kicked off Home World for being too.. As they all said being too human like. But in mid thought behind you some one suddenly yells "hello? Are you okay?" You turn to see a small human staring at you a few feet away. Startled you fall backward into your broken open pod "bwah!" "Oh! Oh! I'm so sorry are you okay?" You struggle to make it to the side of the pod furthest from the human but you bump into something. "Hello" says a tall dark haired figure. You scream and curl into a ball frightened by her. "Garnet! You're scaring her!" Says the smaller human rushing to you and resting a hand on your shoulder. You jump at the feeling of warmth from his hand. "Wh-who are you?" You look at the two standing in front of you just staring at you with seemingly worried expressions. "Oh. I'm Steven and this is garnet." The small one points up to the taller person and she looks down at you and waves with a slight smile on her face. "What's your name" asks Steven. "M-My names Amber." You reply as you uncurl from fetal position and look at Steven through your bangs. "Awe come on now look I'm a gem too. " Steven pulls up his shirt to reveal a light pink gem located directly where a humans belly button would be. You look up at Steven a glint of wonder in your eyes "but when you touched my shoulder your hands weren't cold like a gem. How is that possible?" Steven laughs and smiles "I'm not a normal gem I'm part human too!" Your eyes widen and you scoot away from Steven bumping into Garnet who then picks you up and puts you on your feet outside the pod. "Don't worry you'll get used to that fact." You take a breath and shake your self off as they both step out of the pod beside you. "Garnet, I'm scared of this world. I don't know anything about this planet. I want to go home." Garnet laughs and Steven looks up at you eyes shining "Amber, we can't help you get home. But would you like to be a Crystal Gem?" At the sound of Steven telling you they won't help you get home you feel your heart crack. "A Cr-Crystal Gem?" Garnet looks up to the sky. "We are no longer under the diamonds rule we follow no rule but our own."  You gasp in horror. "B-but won't they kill you?!"  But before Garnet has a chance to reply you here another voice. "Garnet! Steven! Oh my stars! What are you two doing she might be armed back away from her!" You suddenly see a third gem and you realize it's a pearl. "You! Your a pearl! Oh no. Please tell me you haven't brought your diamond with you!" They laugh. "Oh my. I see you must have been exiled. No ordinary gem would be so frightened of the diamonds as you are." Pearl says the words in such an enthusiastic but a humble way you look at her stunned.
