Part Three, I ~ Introducing The Girlfriends -

Start from the beginning

We're not just in a relationship, we're also bestfriends and he is honestly the best thing that's ever happened to me.

If there was ever a chance to do my life over again, then I wouldn't take it because I might not ever have known what love was and I may never have been given this amazing opportunity that I've been enjoying for so long now.

At the time I met Tom, I was going through a rough patch in my life. I had just been sacked, kicked out of my apartment and found out my bestfriend had been killed by a drunk driver in a hit and run incident. But he helped me to turn that all around, and he helped me got to where I am today.

Thanks to Tom, I am now a well-known book editor and I've got my life back on track.

Who knows where I would be now if I hadn't been for that fateful day when I met him.

~Flashback~

"Please don't do this to me. I'll have the money by the end of the week, I promise." I begged my landlord on the other end of the phone to me.

"I'm sorry Grace, I can't keep giving you chances. You've got three weeks to move out." he replied, actually sounding pretty sorry for me and the fact it had actually come to this; me being kicked out of the apartment I rented.

"One more chance, please Dan? I'm begging you now." I said again, sounding more desperate than I had done any other time he phoned me up and told me it was getting close to eviction be the only remaining option for me now.

I was so busy talking on the phone, and trying to balance my Vanilla Latte on my laptop, that I didn't take any notice of where I was walking; and it only resulted in me walking into someone and throwing their tea all over themselves.

I felt really bad and wished that I had been looking where I was going, but I was so caught up in my own life, that I almost forgot there were other people around me and they weren't all going to stop just because I was going through a bad time right now.

"Watch where you're going next time." he snapped at me, picking both himself and his phone up from the floor.

"I'm so sorr- wait, don't I know you from somewhere?" I asked, studying him from head to toe and taking in every feature that he had to offer, trying to work out where I knew him from but I wasn't having very much luck.

"Yeah. I'm the guy you just walked into and spilt his tea all over him, because you were too busy on your phone to look where you were going." he snapped again and I could tell that he was angry, but I didn't do it to him on purpose.

"Look, Dan, I'll call you back later and just think about what I said. Please?" I said, finally having recovered my laptop from the spot that it had fallen on to.

"I'm not going to promise anything, but I'll think about it. I'll talk to you later." Dan replied before he hung up, meaning that I could now show this poor guy just how sorry I was for throwing his tea all over him and his shirt.

"I am really sorry. I've been having such an awful week and, I know I should have been looking where I was going, but I was just trying to save my apartment. Please, let me make it up to you somehow?" I questioned him.

"And how are you going to do that, you've stained my shirt?" he argued.

"Again, I can only apologise for my actions. Let me buy you another one, or how about a couple of beers at my place while I wash your shirt and dry it for you?" I shrugged, trying to be friendly and show him I wasn't a total bitch who went around, deliberately walking into people and ensuring their hot drink ended up all over themselves.
