Austin Carlile. The Austin Carlile was leading me backstage. I was only paying half attention though. The phone call from my dad really shook me up, my anxiety was so high. Being around lots of people and being around my hero didn't help much either.

Austin opened at door to reveal a room with 2 couches, a small TV, a mini fridge, and a microwave.

Austin walked to one of the couches and sat down. I soon followed suit and sat down on the couch opposite him. He kept looking at me, silently studying me. With each silent passing moment my anxiety got higher and higher. I was gonna crack any moment, I could just feel it. After a few minutes still nothing had been said, the small room was engulfed in an ever growing silence.

"What do you want Austin?" I asked, my voice weak and shaky and barely audible.

"I want to know what's wrong. I want to help" His voice strong and serous, yet soft and calming as well.

"Why do you even care Austin, you don't even know me" I told him, trying to make my voice sound normal.

"What if I want to know you?" Austin questioned me.

"You don't want to know me" I responded, looking down at the floor.

I felt Austin's hand on my chin, just as it had been earlier. He moved my head so that we were looking each other dead in the eyes. I wanted to run. I hate eye contact, it scares me.

"Yes, I do. Now tell me what was wrong" Austin said seriously.

"Right before you came over to me I got a call from my dad" I started off telling him. He looked pretty confused so I continued to explain. "My dads not a good guy Austin and his phone call wasn't ether. He was screaming at me over the phone, saying how when I get home I'm dead meat. See my dad beats me all the time, it got me thinking, what if one day he really does kill me Austin?" I told him everything. My hero now knew about my day to day life with my dad.

"Why don't you leave?" Austin asked me.

"Because I don't have anywhere to go" I told him, looking down so he wouldn't see me cry.

"Yo Austin we gotta get ready" I heard a familiar voice say from around the corner of the doorway. Then Alan came into view, he stood in the doorway looking at us. He studied my tear streaked face and eyed Austin.

"Sorry I didn't know Austin had someone back here" Alan said still in the doorway.

"No no, Alan, it's ok. I was just leaving" I said quickly standing up, whipping my eyes, and grabbing my bag before leaving.

I left the room, but hid close by the doorway. Yes. I'm spying on Austin Carlile and Alan Ashby.

"What was that?!" I heard Austin yell.

"I'm sorry Austin! I didn't know she was back here!" Alan said defensively.

"It's alright Alan. I'm sorry I blew up on you" Austin said a bit more calmly.

"Who was she Austin?" Alan asked sounding like a little kid.

"Why don't you ask her yourself Alan" Austin said.

What? No! How'd he know I was out here? Ugh!

"Lyric! Come in here please" I heard Austin call.

I hesitated before getting up and sheepishly walking to the doorway.
