I work in a small diner on 50th street everyday trying to make ends meet. I began a job as a waitress when I was almost sixteen, which was more than three years ago. My mother had left my father for another man. About that time he began to drink our money away, and I was forced to be the supporter of our family.I had no life of my own thus my sole purpose became keeping my family afloat. School was tough but I had managed to keep perfect grades. As I realize my walk to work is coming to an end, I sigh. I try my best to straighten my apron before going into the crowded building known as Aldean's foods,my third diner in the last four years that i've worked at, owned by a man by the name of Thomas Aldean, who was like a father to me. I step in, and my shift immediately begins as a black haired blue-eyed girl by the name of Jenna Summers steps out of the building. I sigh, by the look on her face I can tell today isn't going to go well, but I'm hoping tips will be good.

The night went by fast and the tips were good, but not like they usually were. My last customer a man maybe a year or two older than me sat in a booth in the corner of the diner by himself. He had dark brown curly hair with bright green, almost emerald, eyes. As i got closer I could see specks of gold in them. He had a strong jaw and looked absolutely handsome. " H-hello may I take your order or do you need a moment?" I say, stuttering embarrassingly. " I would like a large sweet tea and a cheese burger with no onions please" he says, he then winks at me. I quickly write down his order and take it to the back where Kristin Lewis, a fiery redhead with brown eyes, cooks. Soon enough the mans food is cooked and I bring it to him. " H-here you are sir" i say, once again stuttering. He smiles at me. His smile is even more attractive than his face. I mentally face palm myself. I did not just think that. I walk away quietly. After he eats i go back to clean the table. He is gone, but he leaves money for the food and an extra one hundred dollar tip. My mouth hangs open. An extra one hundred dollars could give me more than a bare cabinet. Along with my father's drinking, a new thing surfaced, debt. Barely making ends meet, of course i had to pay back his debt, something he was in no condition to do. How could someone pay money they didnt have? Of course that question applys to me too, but what could i do? I cant abandon my father like my mother.
