Prologue for her life

A young female living in Maryland
Her life, too much to fit in 14 lines
Her losing in a stage of peril, and
Searching for herself like she worked in mines
She in which has sought a peaceful lifestyle,
Only to reveal just the opposite,
Is willing to live her life worth the while
And in it, becoming more dominant
Caring for others puts her in despair
But she can't help it, the way she was taught
The only way she knows is to be fair
And she knows her happiness can't be bought.
The world, is there only one way to thrive
She ponders, is it worth it to survive
