The troop trudged on through the snow, the horses walked on wards steadily, the wind was strong , the forefront of blizzard. everyone sported their weather gear, except you, Jaegar was currently wearing yours, the fool forgot it yet again.
You rode on , fighting off shivers, you couldn't appear weak in front of your squad. there was a loud swoosh from beside you, you leapt from your mount, just in time to see it knocked from its feet by a Titan. You flicked your blades out before leaping into motion, you quickly killed it, landing on your feet. your squad waited for commands.
"Follow the corporal , I will catch up" you said coolly walking to the corpse of your mare.You heard them trot off, you sighed before allowing your composure to relax.
"Fuck" you sighed under your breath, there was no way you were keeping up with them in this weather, already they were disappearing into the white snow. You collected your packs and ran after them. It wasn't long before you could no longer track them.You ran forward hoping, yet knowing that the chance of you living through this expedition were growing slimmer. damn Hanji and her need for more subjects. your fingers were already growing blue , thats when fortune smiled, a small cave appeared just with in view, you crawled inside the small entrance.
Looking around it appeared to the burrow of a animal, it just big enough for you to lie down and stretch out completely.It looked to be abandoned and was quite cold, but it beat being out in the blizzard.
You rummaged through your bag, in hopes of a light, only to find its shattered remains.So much for any good luck you had. you sighed and curled up in a desperate attempt to keep warm.
You sat there for what seemed like hours, coughing and shivering, until a small call awoke you from your despair.
" Squad Leader ( y/n)!" the corporals voice ran clear.
You crawled towards the entrance and called out.
" Heichoi" you screamed followed by a stream of coughs.
The call came again but from closer.
"(L/n)!" he called again.
" Corporal" you yelled, bursting out into another stream of coughs.
"(Y/n)!" you reached your hand outside, hoping. your hand fell and landed in the snow.
"Levi" you whispered. You felt something grab your hand. You looked up to see the corporal staring down at you. You slid further down and the Corporal slid into the burrow. You curled up and shivered. A faint glow illuminated the Burrow, Levi lay the lamp on the ground.
"Wheres your jacket" he asked, glaring in disapproval.
"Jaegar" you sighed , coughing.
"Tch" he glared, staring at you.
You sat there in silence. you felt another fit of coughs over take you, you covered your mouth quickly, when you pulled your hand away, you were shocked to find blood. You let your hand fall, and sighed.
"Corporal?" you asked.
"What?" he said flicking his gaze towards you.
"Im going to die arent I?" you said breathing through your teeth.
He paled , looking at you.
"Of course not , you stupid brat!" he retorted.
You hung your head in silence.
" Corporal, I-I Im Afraid" you said staring at your blue hands.
You looked up seeing the wide eyed corporal.
" No matter how many titans ive fought, I was never afraid, b-but now im scared" you said tears flowing down your cheeks.
You look down ashamed, you had shown weakness, to the corporal.
You felt arms wrap around you, you looked up to see Levi holding you close. You hesitantly wrapped your arms around him and cried.
You sat there for what seemed like forever. Levi let you go and you wiped the tears from your face.
You sat there in silence.
"Levi?" you said.
"Yes?" he siad raising a eyebrow.
"I just want you to know, that no matter what happens, I-I I Love you" you stuttered burying your face into your arm.
You felt warm hands hold your freezing face. Levi lowered his face down, and slowly your lips met.
He released you and you stared at him. He pulled his jacket and shirt off, pulling you close, draping the fabric over you. His warmth warmed you and your fingers slowly regained their natural colour. You slept like that waiting for the blizzard to end.
You were awoken by shouts.
"Corporal, Squad leader!" you scrambled to your knees, waking Levi. He quickly redressed himself. and you crawled out of the burrow pulling your bags behind. you stood up in the cold snow. you held a hand out pulling Levi out behind you.
"(Y/n)!" you heard someone scream, you were quickly greeted with Hanjis embrace.
" Dont you disappear like that again, The corporal freaked out" you gave a small smile before glancin towards Levi, who bore no expression.
" Whoa am I seeing things did (y/n) just show emotion" Eren laughed. you were just about ready to scold the boy but Levi beat you to it.
Eren received a hardy clip on the head.
"how many times have I told you brat to pack you bag properly, your slip up almost cost Squad Leader (y/n) her life, tch" Levi scolded , Eren looked down before muttering an apology.

When we set up our tent that night I was surprised when the corporal pulled me away.
"Not tonight brat" he tched.
" Corporal?"
"Levi and your staying in my tent from now on" he said pulling me inside his tent.
Hanji shot me a wink, before wandering off, probably to tell someone what she had seen.
You slept well for one of the first times ever while on a expedition.
