"But Mum why do we have to move?! You've never even met the guy and yet you insist on marrying him when he's on the other side of the world!" I exclaimed.

You may be wondering how I ended up in this situation. Well this is how it went down. A few months ago my Mum met a guy on the internet called Bart. They talked and 'clicked'. If you ask me, its all a load of rubbish.

People don't click and love doesn't exist. In my opinion, it's all make believe. And because of her fantasy I have to leave my home. My country. Heck, I have to leave the continent! I don't want to move to America! I want to stay here, in England.

"Jade you know why we have to move! I love this man and there's nothing you can do about it. He will make a wonderful father and you will love it now come on." She said sternly. I glared at her and mumbled to myself.
"What was that?" She questioned.
"I said that I don't need a father." I spoke.

Minutes passed and not a word was said. All that was exchanged was the burning stares between us both.
"Pack.Your.Bags." My mum said through gritted teeth. "We leave in one week." She finished before storming out of the house.

I groaned to myself before running off to my room and flopping onto the bed. Stupid. Stupid. Stupid. I didn't even know this mystery mans name and yet my mum is making him my new 'father'. Did she not realise how this would effect me? I would be leaving my family, my school, my friends...my friends. ABI! Quickly, I grabbed my phone and texted Abi to meet me at my house.

Around 10 minutes later she was here panting and drenched in sweat.
"OKAY WHO DIED? WHAT IS THE EMERGENCY?!" She breathlessly screamed. I gave a small chuckle and apparently my smile faltered because I was enveloped in a tight embrace.
"Boo what's wrong?" She asked. I pulled away and looked into her concerned eyes.
"I-I have to leave. My m-mum is getting m-married and he's in-in-in." I stuttered. I couldn't even finish the sentence before bursting out into a puddle of tears. Abigail hugged me again whilst softly singing me a tune.
"America." I finished. Suddenly the air began to disappear and the walls were closing in. She looked at me in disbelief and then started laughing hysterically.
"Good one J, you almost had me fooled! Thinking that you would just abandon me for another country like that. Ah you're just too good!" She exclaimed whilst wiping a non existent stray tear. I sat there in silence and put my head down. You could feel the anxiety in the room intensify as the seconds turned into minutes.
"You're not joking, are you?" She asked with a shaky voice.
"I-I'm sorry. This is real. All of it. I only have a week left." I mumbled. I gained the courage and slowly looked up at Abi. Her once caramel eyes that were full of life were now a full colour that had lost its light. Her cheeks were red, puffy and tear stained. It broke my heart to do this to her but I couldn't help it. I had no choice in the matter and once my mum made up her mind, it was final. I was moving to America.
