Once upon a time,
There was a cabin in the woods that stood on a high hill. A family of a mother, father and three sons lived in the house.
Every day the sons had chores as the dad went to work and the mother would cook, clean, and do laundry.
The eldest son would herd the sheep in the barn. The middle son would feed the cows. And, the youngest would fetch the eggs laid from the hens.
One day as the father left and the mother was busy. A wolf came to eat the herds.
The oldest son was slacking and reading a book. And, the middle son was teasing the younger.
The youngest noticed the wolf eating a sheep and ran to the biggest brother and said.
"Brother, brother
What have you done
For you are not watching the sheep
One is gone
As a wolf has eaten
Now I cry and weep"
The eldest son ignored the warning and continued reading. And the youngest puffed his chest and ran after the wolf and got eaten.
The middle child heard his cries and noticed what had happened. So he ran to the eldest brother and said.
"Brother, brother
What have you done
For you are not doing your part
Our bother is gone
And dead in deed
To his very beating heart"
The brother ignored this too, for he thought this was a joke, so he responded.
"Oh silly you
I am no fool
And brother is not dead
I just now saw him
Playing in the hay
Go find him in the shed"
The middle brother ran in a hurry, and the slither wolf struck again.
Slowly approached the wolf to the eldest child as he snickered and sneered. The eldest knew then and there, he should have been doing his job. Now he is a meal.
