Walking into the woods at night can be scary, but when the woods are said to be haunted, few dare to venture in. Some woods and forests have a rich history indeed. Battle fields, burried treasures, Native burial grounds, crimes and murders, hangings, suicides, cult sacrifices.
The batymore forest a.k.a the screaming forest . Very few people travel into these woods, but when they do there's no one to tell the story of what happened.
Some say its the screaming man (James Gorden) who was killed in 1670 by a Indian tribe. Rumor has it that the tribe tied him to a tree, and made him watch the death of his family. They cut off their limbs one at a time til they died. Then left James to die , surrounded by the blood of his loved ones. It's rumored, he's been haunting the forest ever since.
Most towns people will say it's the Axe man (Micheal Montgomery). July 17,1670 he was building a new house for his wife. While cutting down trees in the forest he heard a scream.
Cautiously he wondered around trying to find the source of the noise.
He had stumbled upon a cult. They had captured Micheal and used him as their sacrifice to the "dark prince."
The cult had cut gashes all over his body, and collected the blood that rolled off his skin. Each one of the members took a sip of the blood then stabbed Micheal in the chest.
The cult cut off this limbs with his Axe and left his body at his wifes door step.
To this day you can hear both of the mans screams and the screams of their victims.
