Two Cups Of Tea

In Hurried Pace, I bolted out of the school bus door, ran across my drive way, hopped onto the yard, and leaped toward the steps on my front porch. I quickly grasped at the door knob, flung it open, and alas! I am finally home.

For some of you adolescent teens, High school is a very magical place, is a very fun place to be around, and is probably the best moments of your life. I can speak on behalf of all the other adolescents, I like to say that many didn't have that experience. Most was picked on, most was bullied, and if you are like me, you would understand the dangers in being different. Threaten'd, abused, scalded, and beaten. All due too the fact that I am just slightly different.

The euphoria of relief melts across my face as I let my Dad know that I am home by making a murmured shout of hello across the house. He is downstairs working on the computer for his sports articles, and Mom is a nurse who shouldn't be back until eight o'clock tonight.

I hear Dad shout something back up, but it was so muffled so I assume that he is yelling back at me to let me know that he had heard me. All I wanted to do at this point is to devour a microwavable meal, march upstairs to my room, and just forget all the bad reprimands of school, today. So i finished my stinging hot and yet frozen meal, and ran my way upstairs, like I said. On top of the stairs, directly in front, is the door to my room. I open, walk inside as if i was a prince, and I soaked up the safety and the comfort of my room.

I still felt that I needed to get this huge stone off of my chest, to lift this fear from my soul, and try to talk to Chris.

Chris, is a long time friend and the only friend I have in school. We are very much the opposites. However if you look at us when we a paired together, you can swear that we are brothers. But we are not. We have the same shagginess and length of hair, except his is blonde and mine is brown. We have the same stubble's of hair across our face, not color wise, though. We have the same jaw structure, the same chin line, well, the same facial features almost exactly. Personality wise, we are different. For he is a very macho looking fellow, where I am a very feminine type, wasn't for the hairs on my chin, you could swear that I was a flat chested girl. The shy and lady like voice doesn't help me out at all. On the phone I am always mistaken by my mother. Chris loves bubble gum pop music. As for me, I despise pop music and listen to punk rock instead. I also end up wearing flannel shirts and preferred rips in my pants. When he wears his preppy clothes in order to fit in a lot more.

I dialed his number and placed the cell phone against my cheek.

"Hey! Trevor! I know that number now more than anything, so whatsup?" his voice greets me.

"Hey, I wanna talk about somethin'" I reply

"Sure, go ahead buddy. Shoot!"

"It's about Todd..." my voice got choked. He Interrupts

"You mean that school bully, you know he is nothing but a bully. He picks on everyone, what makes you so spacial that he might just wanna stalk you, huh?" He attempts to make me feel better.

"No, Its much more than that Chris."

"Than what is it?"

I take a deep breath and prepare myself to explain the situation I have gotten' myself into.

"I had an ultimatum, I witnessed something he did, and I had to rat on him or else the Principle would purposely flunk me, despite if i made a good passing grade or not, He was going to flunk me if I didn't confess what I saw." I explained.

"Did you do it?" He asked

"I had to, plus, I thought that he would be sent away, so I wouldn't have to deal with him any longer." I reply.

"What was it that Todd actually done?" He continue to ask.

"Well, you know that girl you have a crush on?"

"Of course, Cindy!  I could I forget?" He pauses, waiting for me to continue.

"Well, He asked her out in spite, knowing that she isn't intrested at all. But she said no too him. and he struck her many times across the face. I was so scared and shocked, that I stood there, froze."

"Oh my god....." He add. I continue the conversation.

"Well after a while the principle and a officer set us in the faculty room together. Thats when I was purposed the ultimatum and decided to send that bully away. But, before I left the room he said 'I am going to kill you one of these days Trevor! You hear me? You are dead!' and than i speed walked through the hall way, trying to forget what he said. "

"Is Cindy okay?" He asks.

"Yes, she is. but I dont know if I will be okay...." than, he interrupts.

"Trevor, he says that to everyone. You aren't the first you know? and if makes you feel any better, after school I seen him being taken away in a police car. So he is definitely being sent off to some camp that no one cares about." He comforts me.

"You think so?" I ask, in somewhat relief.

"I know so Trevor..... just calm down and talk about something else, okay?" He insures me.

"Yeah... hehe.... If you say so buddy. ummm so you going to the game this week?" i try to switch the topic.

"Ummm... not really, im not a big fan of our schools team. You know tha....." His raspy voice was interrupted by my Dad knocking on the door.

"Hey hold on a sec, kay??" I ask Chris and see what dad wants.

I approach the door and before I could open it I hear Dad shout from across the thin dry walls....

"I have some beverages here."

I reply while opening the door. "Thanks Dad, what is it?" The door is now open and there was Dad, standing in front of me. Holding a plastic tray, and upon the tray was two cups of tea.

I grab the one cup and look up at Dad with my head tilted to the query. I ask. "What is the other cup for?"

"For you two boys. I thought I heard you talking to you're friend in there."He says in a reassuring tone.

""No Dad, haha. That was Chris and I on the phone. But thanks."

"Well, what about the kid that came here asking for you?" Dad asks.

"What do you mean?" I ask as if he had thrown me a riddle.

"OH, He has to be here somewhere, he came before you got back from school. He said you guys had to stay up and study for something important. at school, so I let him in your room to wait, since he seemed so eager." He says, with out a hint of suspicion or knowings that he had let a strange kid inside his own sons room to wait.

My eye's were wide and I was hesitant to ask the next question. I never told my Dad about the Bullies, I never tell him anything about my school life.

"Dad? What was his name, please you must tell me hi---s!" I begin to ask but was abruptly interrupted by a loud whooshing sound passing my ear and cheek, I seen the image of a knife flying excessively and freely in the air, the knife was coming towards my Dad and I had no way to stop it, for in the next mila second, the knife had been implanted in my Dad's throat. I watched my dad drop the tray of tea on the floor, along with his blood, squirting with. I watched my Dad collapse infront of me. blood is leaking fast everywhere and i came to realization that i cannot help him, also the realization occurred that I know who is behind me, directly, behind me. I do not want to move, I do not want to make a peep.

The mirror of my room, is placed right beside the right of my door. I dare not, I must not. But my eye's drift anyway to the reflection, and what i see in the reflection. Standing behind me, is Todd, with indications that he had struggled and escape the police, with blood about his clothes and mud on his shoes. Todd, had shaved his head of hair, his moustache hair and his eye brows, and he looks at me in the reflection, with the expression of lust and anger.

Todd steps forward, and simultaneously, I hear my Mom opening the front door.

"I'm home early my babies!" she shouts in a lovely voice, unknowing of what is happening. still staring at the reflection of the mirror, I see that Todd's face had turned to a sinister grin. At that very moment, I knew that the entire family would die on this day.
