"Whoo~ we're freshman!" Exclaimed Larg, as he swung his arm around his friend Ethan, as they walked into the school.

"Hmm, you sound awfully excited about school," Ethan responded, not looking up from his phone.

"That's because we're men now Ethan. Men," Larg said.

"Whatever you say Larg," Ethan sighed, and continued on into the school.

Ethan headed to his locker, and placed all his things in. He unpacked his backpack, and then threw his gym bag in after. He fumbled to get his schedule and then hurried to class. Larg walked to his locker and just threw everything in. He knew that his locker was going to be a mess later in the year, so why bother try and keep it neat now? After that he turned and started walking towards Ethan's locker.

"Hey Ethan," he said, but then he realized, he couldn't see Ethan.

"Awww he must've went ahead," Larg said out loud, and went to class.

When he got into class he looked around to see if Ethan was anywhere in sight. Nope. Larg let out a long sigh. He looked around and saw Gavin waving him over. Gavin was a great gamer, and a great soccer player as well.

"Larg, over here!" He exclaimed, and patted the seat next to him.

"Ethan left without me again," Larg sighed, and sat down.

"He probably didn't want to be late on the first day of high school," Gavin said.

"Yeah, but he could've waited for me," Larg pouted.

"Whatever, you never minded this much when it came to Ethan," Gavin said.

"W-What's that supposed to mean?" Larg stuttered, blushed.

"Nothing, are you alright?" Gavin asked.

"Y-Yes, of course I am!" Larg exclaimed.

'Why am I so nervous thinking about Ethan? I'm never this nervous thinking about him, why now?' It was true. He didn't know why he was so nervous about Ethan. He was never this nervous, not even when they met in preschool. Not even when Ethan got married in preschool, and then got a divorce, and then married again, and ten divorced again, and then married again, and then divorced one more time, all to the same girl. Larg just shrugged it off as butterflies. Maybe high school was more nerve wrecking than he had thought.

"Good morning class, I'm Mr. Jin, I will be teaching you visual arts," the teacher said, as he walked into the room.

'Visual arts,' Larg thought, 'can just be called art class.'

"Larg? Larg Sanno?" Mr. Jin called out.

"Psst, Larg," Gavin tapped his friend.

"Huh? What? Here!" Larg exclaimed, and raised his hand, earning a laugh from his classmates.

After his classes were done Larg headed to Ethan's locker. Ethan was busy putting back his books, and talking to his friend Malacai. Malacai's real name was Makayla, but she preferred to go by Malakai. She was a great artist, mostly at digitally creating wolf furries, or other wolf-like animals. Usually, she would be hanging out with Ethan at his locker, and walking to lunch with them, but for some reason Larg didn't like the fact that she was with him. She was dressed in a cute outfit today, and her usual plain face was lightly coated in mascara, and lip gloss.

"So I see that you've changed up your look," Ethan said.

"Yeah, I tried a dress and makeup today, so enjoy it while you can, because it isn't going to last," she said.

"Really? It suits you pretty well, you look pretty," Ethan said.

That made Larg feel uncomfortable inside. No one ever classified Malacai as 'pretty'. Well to be fair, she wasn't ugly, no not at all, just no one called her pretty in their group. The uncomfortable tightness in Larg's chest made him interrupt.

"Guys, we're late to lunch guys, let's go," Larg said harshly.

"Geez, give me a minute," Ethan said, and shut his locker.

"Alright, let's go," Larg said, and wrapped his arm around Ethan protectively, part of him wished that Malacai would just leave. Leave him alone. Leave Ethan alone. Leave them alone, but he shook off the feeling.

'It was nothing,' he thought, 'that feeling was nothing at all.'
