As was a normal day, Cameron started off her day by ignoring the alarm set for 6:30 AM. At about 7:00 AM she rolled over and scrolled through her phone for any new messages. Of course there were none. She sent a quick text to her best friend Alex to remember to bring food for their camping trip that they would be going on later today after school.

She picked up a grass-stained pair of jeans and a wrinkled plain white tshirt off her floor and threw them on hurriedly.  She yanked a brush through her hair and didn't even think about putting makeup on. As she was walking out she quickly grabbed an apple and was on her way before her mom yelled from upstairs saying Alex had called and that it was an 'emergency'. Uh oh. Wonder what that's all about?

I quickly respond with a 'thank you' and head out the door. I ride a bike, but not for long since I'll be taking my driver's test pretty soon. Being with no car, I pedal as fast as possible to Oakridge High, a big highschool for kids with little intelligence, and meet up with Alex.

After I chain my bike to a post, I walk into the highschool and make a beeline for Alex. I see she has a look of shock on her face. Just as I reach her she begins to point over my shoulder and mouth the words "Look behind you".

When I turn around I am greeted by a tall muscular boy. I have to look up to meet his eyes. Boy were they green! And when he smiled he had the whitest, straightest teeth I've ever seen!

He jabs his hand out in attempt to shake hands, but I falter and stare with my mouth wide. He looks confused and Alex saves me by introducing us. The tall drink of water smiles and says, "Nice to meet you, I'm Jordan".

I smile awkwardly and Alex says, "Nice to meet you too! I'm Alex and this weirdo here is Cameron. You look kinda lost. Where's your next class?" Jordan responds saying, "Algebra. Would you happen to know where I need to be?" He looks past Alex and smirks at me. I roll my eyes and smile just as Alex says, "Yep! I have that class too, actually. Follow me." Alex turns around saying, "Hope to see you around, Cam!!" Jordan buds in saying, "Yeah, hopefully around lunch?" I finally get over my awkwardness and say, "Yeah, definitely.  See ya around."

The bell quickly rings after and we head to our assigned classes. I won't see Alex until fourth period so I guess I'll just have to wait to ask Alex about what the call earlier was all about.
