"Jenny we've got to get to school at a reasonable time, you know this." My friend yelled from the bottom of the stairs.

"Yeah I know I know." I muttered in reply.

"At least Jake will be in front of the school when we get there!" She started coming up the stairs and came into my room.

I set my makeup down and looked up at her. "Is that all you think about? The guys? They aren't even guys they're boys. Boys who obviously don't know the difference between girls who are complete and utter sluts and girls that are nice."

"I know it's infuriating." She looked down at her hands and started playing with them.

She looked up at me and spoke again, " You know I have a date today right?"

I ghasped and looked up at her "Brooke Marie Collows you better tell me who it's with!"

She bit her lip nervously and looked embarrassingly down at the floor, "Promise you won't judge me?"

I nodded my head, "Of course."

She took a deep breath and looked me in the eyes. "Andrew Thomson."

My jaw probably dropped about 3 feet. "BROOKE!" She got up and hugged me. We jumped around and screamed and then looked seriously at each other.

"We've gotta get you ready! When is it at?" She walked over to my closet and didn't answer me for a little while. "It's at 7. It's just a movie and dinner and that's it, okay? Nothing too fancy nothing too boring, but try not to make a big deal out of this okay? Promise me?"

I nodded my head. "Skinny red one on the end, take the jean jacket too. Suits you nicely." She looked at me with tears in her eyes and at first I thought it was because she was happy but then she had streams of tears and I knew she was upset about something.

"Brook what's wrong?" She looked at me, closed her eyes for a minute and then word her years away. "I'm just scared. Because you know I'm still a virgin and I think that intimidates him. You know what if he doesn't wanna hold my hand, what if he doesn't want kiss me. I'm 17 years old and I'm still a virgin."

I walked over to her and lifted her head up. "Brooke, if there is one thing I know, it's that you're my best friend and if I'm being honest you scare the hell out of me but that's because you're so uptight, tonight just have fun and go with the flow you know? Be you."

She nodded, hugged me back and took another deep breath. "I've gotta get ready for school. Breakfast is on the table, and I'll be down in 5." I nodded my head and left her upstairs.

On the process of going downstairs I almost fell 3 times, refrained from swearing, hoped nobody saw my struggles and thanked Jesus for helping me out and not letting me fall.

Once I was safely down I went to the kitchen to raid Brooke's fridge. Her mom was standing there but instead of telling me not to raid her fridge she simply said, "Morning." I smiled in reply and got some orange juice.

Just as I was about to pour it though Brooke came downstairs and walked into the kitchen. She walked right in front of me, took the orange juice out of my hand, got a cup of her own and poured her glass before I got a chance.

I chuckled and set my glass down, "Bitch." She turned around and smirked at me before taking a seat next to me. We sat in silence for about 10 minutes while we drank and finally when we were done we got our backpacks and walked out to her car.

"Okay rules before we go. First of all, no looking at those guys. Well I guess for you, Andrew. But he's the only one. Hear me? As for myself I won't be looking at any."

She nodded her head. "Okay."

I smiled and got into the passengers seat, she took the wheel.

We drove slowly to school, for honked at maybe 3 different times but we didn't really care. We both hated our lives at the moment so being late to school was nothing.

We got there in 30 minutes when it really should've taken us 12.

She got out of the car first and waited for me. I just now realized what she was wearing. She had on distressed jeans, a pink shirt with a gray stripe going along the top and it had white sleeves. She had her hair pulled back and she had her Alex and Ani bracelets on. She looked really good.

As for me I had dark wash skinny jeans on, a gray sweater, a white knitted infinity scarf on over it, tall brown boots and white boot socks. It was my favorite outfit.

We met each other at the front of the car and gave each other motivation before walking past the guys that were standing right in front of the entrance.

"I know I'm not talking to anyone but for you, talk to Andrew, but make it short and sweet. No kissing, no hugging, just small talk."

"Okay and as for you," Brooke started, "This is going to be no fun for me if my best friend isn't going to talk to anyone, so unless you do, I'm not."

I rolled my eyes and let her comment slip out the other ear. We started walking to the front of the building, 5 feet away from the entrance now.

We got maybe 2 feet away when Andrew yelled "Faggots." I stopped dead in my tracks and turned around to  Brooke. She had tears in her eyes and she looked at me sympathetically.

I gave her s confused look and she pushed past me. She pushed past the guys and went into the school. I was left standing there. So, I did the only logical thing I could think to do.

I walked up to Andrew. Slapped him across the face, and then spit in it. "Disrespect Brooke, feel my wrath." And then I walked in, leaving everybody stunned.
