The Ozone Layer

Protecting us from the sun's rays,
Fighting a war,
That we can not fight.
You take many jabs from the sun,
But yet you cover the earth,
Just like a shield.
You have never abandoned us,
Instead you stand firm,
Just as a mighty hero.

No matter how much,
Flaming knives you get,
Stabbed with,
You endure them because,
You love us humans.
You care for us,
As though we are your children.

Yet,
We develop,
And become ungrateful.
Puff puff puff,
The release of smoke,
As our machinery operate,
Attacking you from the other side.

Energetic, robotic machines,
Work aside the sun,
An alliance,
Combining their powers to defeat you.
Humans,
Even with our knowledge of this,
Continue with our malicious actions.

One day however,
You wouldn't be able to,
Withstand anymore pain.
You'll be defeated,
Destroyed.
And we humans will be murdered,
By our own inventions,
And the aggressive sun.
