I needed you when you chose her
I needed you but I understood why I was left on a limb
Maybe that message didn't send
But maybe it did and your stance didn't bend
I guess I could ponder it for years
But then again I could just feel better after a couple beers
And maybe here and there some tears
But to every sickness I am reminded is a cure
Time will fade a little more
As you wither, it lightens me to know that I will soar
Because one day I will be on the other side of the door
And my quiet voice you will hear truly roar
I know as each day passes the pain won't faultier at all
But maybe it won't hurt as bad when you don't call
Maybe then I can unsee what I saw
Cus one day you will see me down the street standing tall
Some day you won't be on my mind when I wake
And memories of you will be long passed drowned in that shaded lake
Because I've realized what it takes
And I chose a life and decisions for me to make
