He's the color of everything I loved.
His hair is blonde color of the sand of the beach. His eyes are the color of the far away ocean in the morning. His skin was the same shade of light brown as the beach house that I resided in for the past 6 summers. He was my ocean and reality was my cruel and disheartening life guard. But like all life guards reality only haunted me during the day. The rules for the ocean at night always the same.

"ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK."

The sign hung above the gate that lead to the beach at the Madington beach house. A tall 3 story house with wide view windows. These window, I'd always use to think they were put in to keep an eye on me. Now at the age of 17 I know it's true. My mother and my aunts confirmed my superstitions the night that he and his college friends showed up in the house next door. He usally came to the quiet beach with his family to get away from life. At least that's what he told me all those years. This year was different, he was now 18 and could come on his own. He made it clear his intention for this summer how do I know? I watched him, I had been texting him the past year and I knew he would be here today. He was so excited to see me and show me off to his friends like we had always dreamed off. So that morning I got up early put on a new swimsuit under my tank top and shorts. I sat on the frount porch till 10. I walked the beach till 12. Walk into town to the herd of food trucks that gathers by the time I got back it was close to 3.
I walked inside for a little and as it started to rain I made my perch in the bay window on the 3rd story.
I watched the rain and Read peacefully until dinner. Then hit the beach. I voiced my concern to my best friend Harper who I had brought with me on the trip. She said not to worry and that I just needed a distraction she said while nodding towards a group of boys making a fool out themselves by staring. I couldn't do it, not to him, he had waited for me and I for him and I couldn't throw it all away for some random boy. Soon it was 10 and I waited in my bedroom. I began to lose hope and become worried and just disappointed. I drifted off to sleep around 10:30.
I woke up bolted out of bed and jumped to my window. Another window placed to keep an eye on me, but for once it worked in my favor. An unfamiliar red SUV pulled into the driveway of the house he claimed to have rented for the summer the same one his family rented all his life, the house next to ours, next to me. I began to doubt and became frustrated. "He lied to me, he said he rented the same house, it bet one of his friends said it wasn't a good idea or something." I still stared at the car in silence watched how a dark skinned driver with curly black hair stepped out, Not him. Out of the passenger seat appeared a buzzed head of another unfamiliar dark skinned boy while very handsome still, Not him. I could tell the car can only hold 2 more people seeing is the back was overflowing with luggage. She lost hope truly at this point. There's aren't the friends he had told he about at all. But she couldn't peeled her eyes off the old dented car. Two more boys stepped out the car, two brown hair boys with sharp jaws and one with a heavy wide build, with beard to match. With all the boys out of the car there laughs cracked through the silence. They all walked to back of the car. She sat down on the bed about to cry. He lied and lied again and again. About being there by 9. About jumping out and running to her. I guess bout everything. She heard the trunk open and laughing aross. But she hadn't heard a joke no one had said anything. Her curious could make her do anything that's what he said he always like bout her. He was right about her questioning everything and needing to know. She had to walk back to the window and see. A pair of black combat boots splattered with white and blue paint. Dangled from the back of the trunk Blue? Her favorite color. Dark slightly ripped jeans tucked into the boots as more of the figure appeared in sight. She held her breath. A white t shirt covered the body of this boy with barley fitting over is muscular torso. A small bright chain hung around the boys neck and the small letter C could be seen hanging from it. A chain with C on it, blue on the boots? She hoped. She looked and watched. A striking jaw and blonde head stepped out.
It's him.
All her doubts gone she smiled and looked at him the same boy she knows from long ago. As always , at the sight of him she fell right back into her ocean.
