Chapter 5

Julian's POV

"What the fuck?!" I yelled at Ty. The referee came over and told us that we were eliminated from the game for Ty's actions. It pissed me off that Ty had to risk the game like that. When I looked up at the crowd, Montague High was pissed off and Capulet High was rejoicing over what Ty had done. It made me sick to see my classmates cheer with joy over this. The ambulance came and took Romeo to the emergency room. I stepped away from my team and raced to the locker rooms. I put my stuff into my bag and raced out. When I got out of the locker room, everyone was brawling each other. I snuck out of the stadium and to the hospital. Lucky me, it was a long walk. Then right in front of me walked Ty, how did he catch up with me? "So," he said, "Where are you going?" "None of your business, Ty," I said with annoyance. "It is my business," he said, "You are my younger cousin, so I'm older than you and I need to know." "Fine," I answered with venom in my voice, "I'm going to apologize to the person that you just sent to the hospital." He grabbed me by the shirt yelling, "What the fuck are you doing! He's the enemy lil' cuz, don't go and feel pity for the enemy!" I pulled away from him and dashed down the street like a cheetah. He didn't stand a chance of catching me because I was faster than he was.

When I got to the hospital, I had to wait for a long time. I read a newspaper for 5 hours straight, thankfully it was the sports page. Then the Montague family sat down in the waiting room. I pulled up the newspaper over my face so they wouldn't see me. Then I noticed two players that were on Romeo's team, they must have ran all the way down here from the game. "Is he okay?!" one of them asked and Mr. Montague said, "He got a concussion Ben, we don't know how bad it is." Mrs. Montague started to cry, her eyes were swollen from crying before the two boys showed up. "That bastard," said the guy next to Ben, "I'm going to kill Ty once and for all! Maybe his co-captain can go down with him!" "The Capulet boy?" Mrs. Montague asked. "I'm going to kill him too!" yelled the guy and Mr. Montague covered the guy's mouth saying, "Shut up Merc! You are going to make Romeo worse!" "That Capulet boy is the sweetest boy I've ever met," Mrs. Montague said, "I met him at the market yesterday, he helped me carry a watermelon to my car." Then all of the men in the room said at the same time, "What the fuck?!" She nodded her head and the men stayed astonished. "Fine," Merc said changing the plan, "We will beat the fucking shit out of Ty." They all agreed and I gave a sigh of relief, at least they didn't want to kill me.

They finally left a half hour later, and I took my chance to visit him. I walked in slowly and quietly and found him sleeping peacefully. I tiptoed in and sat in the chair next to his bed. I looked at him for a while, feeling guilty. Why did Ty do this to him? As I contemplated this, I remembered that my mother would be extremely angry if I was home past my curfew. I got up quietly and walked out the door of Romeo's hospital room. I made my way down the hallway and down the stairs. I walked down the street, feeling like I survived WWII until I bumped into my mother. I stared up at her, wide-eyed. "I knew you would be here!" she screeched. Butler was there and he tried to calm my mother down saying, "Madam, please calm down.." "I will not calm down!" she screamed at Butler. "Please madam, we can talk about this at home, let's not ruin your image in public," he said. She took a deep breath and nodded. "Master Julian, Madam Capulet, shall we go home now," he said bowing to us both. My mother grabbed me by the wrist and dragged me into the back seat and then she sat in the passenger's seat. Butler went in the driver's seat and drove us back to the house.

When we got home, my father and Ty were there. Ty looked satisfied at what he did and so did my father. "Now," my mother started, "Who did you go see in the hospital?" "Who were you seeing in the hospital?" asked Ty. "N-no one y-you know," I stuttered in reply. Butler walks in asking, "Madam Capulet, the head cook would like to speak with you to know what you will be eating for dinner tonight. Master Ty, you have a phone call and Master Capulet you have a email from a business associate that needs to be answered ASAP." My mother scowled and then walked to the kitchen to yell at the chef. My father walked to his office room and Ty walked to the living room to answer the phone call. I breathed a sigh of relief and said, "Thanks Butler." He smiled saying, "Don't worry about it, Master Julian, if you want I can take you to the hospital later because my boyfriend is in the hospital right now too." "What happened to your boyfriend?" I asked him. "He got into a car accident a couple of days ago," Butler said sadly, "But I try to go and see him as much as I can." I nodded and answered, "When will you be going to visit him next? I would like to go with you." "In a couple of minutes, I could tell your mom that you wanted to come with me to go grocery shopping," he said. I replied, "I'll get my jacket and then I'll be ready to go." He nodded and walked down the hallway to the kitchen.

Romeo's POV

I woke up in the hospital and at first, I was wondering why I was even there. Then I noticed Merc glaring at me. "Merc! What the hell!" I yelled at him and he said annoyed, "Romeo be quiet, we're in a hospital for God's sake." "Hospital!" I said shocked, "Why the hell am I in here!" "Ty held your leg down and kicked you in the head when he got up," Merc said, "He kicked you so hard that you were knocked out cold." "I'm glad Ben and you didn't get injured," I said and he yelled back, "No, it's not okay! He knocked you out so badly that you could've died Romeo!" I held my breath for a while sinking in what Merc had told me. I could have died, but that didn't make me frightened. The only thing that frightened me was if Julian was in trouble. Then I thought, was Julian toying with my emotions and set this up? Did he get his Capulet buddies to help him tear my heart apart? That bastard! I'm not going to talk to him again! I know he planned this out. Why am I so stupid? I remember Merc told me that I was too trusting and he was right. "Hey," Merc said, "I have to go, so do you need anything?" "No," I answered, "I'm just fine." Throughout the day, I rested and watched TV. On a sports news channel, they talked about me. The male newscaster said, "Yesterday Montague High and Capulet High had a rugby match that ended in a disaster. Here is the story." Then they showed video of the rugby match with rugby broadcasters speaking and then saying, "There goes Romeo Montague who gets tackled by Tybalt Capulet. Oh god, it looks like Capulet spiked him in the head with his cleats!" I turned the TV off annoyed about how getting spiked in the head was such a big deal. It has happened before and I bet it will happen again someday. There are some people in this world who hate following the rules or they hate people with a burning passion to hurt others. I don't know what I'm thinking right now, my brain feels empty.

Then I heard a knock on the door. "Mr. Montague? You have a visitor. He says he's a friend of yours," the nurse at the doorway told me. "Sure, he can come in," I said. The nurse walked out and Julian slowly walked into my hospital room. This was the last person I wanted to see right now. He was probably the one who wanted me beaten up. That smart little bastard wanted to show his friends that he could trick a Montague High student. That bastard. "What are you doing here?" I asked with venom in my voice. "I just wanted to see if you were ok. I was worried...," he said in a quiet voice. I replied, "You wanted me to get injured, right? Well it worked you bastard! You teamed up with Ty to get me injured. Well it worked." "W-what?" he asked, "What are you talking about?" "I'm not stupid Julian, you're lying to me," I said, "I trusted you and you threw it in my face!" He looked at me with sadness on his face as he said, "I would never mislead you. You mean everything to me!" "I don't believe you Julian, you're a Capulet!" I said. "Then I guess you are a liar! Just like all those fucked up Montagues!" Julian exclaimed and ran out of the room in tears. How did I lie to Julian? He was lying to me to get his trust back, when he has broken my heart. It's just like Rosaline again. "You know, Mr. Montague, Master Julian would never lie to you, right?" a masculine voice from the doorway asked. I looked up to see a middle aged man looking down at me. He was either in his fifties or sixties, I couldn't tell. "What do you mean?" I asked, "He lied to my face." "Master Julian is not a liar. It would hurt him to lie. It is strange, I know, but it's true," he said to me. "Can you bring him here tomorrow?" I asked, "I want to apologize to him and I don't want him to know he is coming here." "I'm afraid that might not be possible Mr. Montague. After this little discussion you both had, he won't be wanting to go near this place," he explained, "That's why he spends most of his time at Willow Park in the mountains. It's so he can draw and be at peace from his parents and Paris." "I can't go there until I'm discharged," I replied, "The doctors haven't told me when, but I hope soon." He nodded and departed from my room. The rest of the day was quiet and I felt myself become lonely. Would I die alone? Maybe.
