Jade-Streak scaled the building with impressive speed. She dropped silently to the floor spotting two guards. Within two seconds, a dagger was embedded in each guard's chest. She crept along the building. This was no ordinary building, no. This building was a laboratory. This building was a prison. Jade-Streak sneaked into a small laboratory. She searched for something specific, a vial. After a few seconds of looking she moved on to the next room. Then the next. She heard footsteps, and quickly turned around while throwing a knife. It did not hit its target. A woman walked out of the shadows, in one hand the knife. In the other... the vial.

"Is this what you're looking for?" The woman asked. Jade-Streak ran towards her, unsheathing her blade. The woman just rolled her eyes, and before she knew it Jade-Streak was knocked down. Still collected and cool, she tried to attack again, but the woman was not there. Jade-Streak turned around to see the woman leaning against one of the counters.

"I want to make a deal." The woman said. Jade-Streak laughed.

"I do not make deals." Jade-Streak barked.

"Hmm, you might be interested in this one... You see, I'm what you'd call a prisoner here. I want out. You must have some kind of quick getaway. You take me with you out of here, and it's yours. I'll even tell you where more of it is." Jade-Streak studied the woman. She had dark hair, almost black. Her eyes were blue. But the strangest thing was the metal mask on her mouth around her jaw. She didn't hear her breathing, and her voice sounded like any other person's. She had a sneaky look in her eye.

"How do I know you're trustworthy?" The Jade-Streak asked.

"Oh, I'm not trustworthy. But I do have what you need. And, I could have already killed you minutes ago." The woman said. Jade-Streak pondered for a moment. She didn't really have much of a choice. Plus, she pitied her, being a prisoner here.

"Deal. Give it to me." Jade-Streak demanded.

"I won't give it to you until I'm safely out of here. Let's get out of here." The woman said. It hadn't worked. Oh, well, Jade-Streak walked with her.

"I thought you said you'd tell me where more is." Jade-Streak questioned.

"It's not here! They wouldn't keep that much in one place! Now, c'mon. Let's get out of here." The woman said, sprinting to a window.

Together they left. Jade-Streak had a portal waiting for her.

"You can summon portals?" The woman asked.

"No." Jade-Streak replied.

"Then how did this get here?" She asked.

"I know someone." Jade-Streak said. "Now, give me the vial-" She said. "-this is where we part."

The woman's eyes widened. Jade-Streak wondered what was wrong with her. Then she realized that she was scared.

"Look, I... I can't lug around another person, I just can't." Jade-Streak started.

"But... what about the other places where it's at? I- I could tell you where they are!" The woman said quickly in one breath.

"You don't even know what this is? You-you could be a good person. I'm not going to ruin that." Jade-Streak said.

"Please." The woman begged. Jade-Streak undid one of the weapons on her belt and handed it to the woman, with the sheath on.

"Take this. You'll be fine. If you can catch that damned knife, you can use this." Jade-Streak said.

"What about that goodness you didn't want to ruin?" The woman said, raising her eyebrow. Jade-Streak sighed.

"No, no, I can't take you!" Jade-Streak said, more to herself than the woman.

"I won't be any trouble. I'll do whatever you ask. And I won't stay for long, just... to figure things out." The woman said.

"Okay. Two weeks. That's all. That's how long I'll let you stay with me. But, let's make one thing clear, this isn't for you, it's for me." The woman stuttered.

"Wh-Uh, H-.... Thank y-" She was cut off.

"No thanking me." Jade-Streak said.

"Okay." The woman replied. Jade-Streak grabbed her arm and walked through the portal. They now stood on a beach. A man waited for them. He was relatively young, he looked to be in his 30's. He was in deep purple robes, which complimented his golden eyes. And although he was young, he had silver hair.

"You brought a plus-one?" He asked Jade-Streak.

"Couldn't get rid of her." Jade-Streak complained.

"All right. Well, anyone else?" He asked.

"No that's it." She said. He nodded and closed the portal with the flick of his hand.

"Where will you go now?" He asked.

"This one-" She gestured to the woman, "Is going to help me find more Chemical E. Once that's over, I'll go wherever I find profit."

"Well, you seem busy. I won't keep you. But, remember, you can send for me any time."He said.

"That's not likely, but I appreciate it, ." Jade-Streak said.

"Goodbye, then." He said, disappearing.

"It's been a long night. Let's get some rest." Jade-Streak said to the woman. Jade-Streak laughed to herself. "I just realized... I don't even know your name. What is it?" She asked.

"I, uh... I don't have a name." She said.

"Don't be silly, everyone has a name."

"Not me. I was never named. The scientists didn't bother. Unless you count 'Project 167' as a name."

"Well, then. We'll just have to find you one."

"Ha, that sounds great. But enough about me. What's your name?" The woman asked.

"Jade-Streak." She said.

"Cool name. I can see why you're called Jade. Your eyes are the color of the gem." The woman said.

"Yeah, that's why my parents named me Jade." She said, thinking. "Well, we'd better get to the inn so we can get some rest. Let's go." They walked through a quiet village, as they neared the inn, Jade-Streak saw a group of angry guards. She quickly turned the corner. But a man saw them. He started running towards them.

"Run like hell!" Jade-Streak hissed to the woman. So she did.

A man watched as two women sprinted across a village. He spoke into an orb of sorts.
"She brought that damned girl here! Taking both of them will be tricky. Maybe we should leave them alone... But the girl she brought would make such a nice addition. She's quite a piece of work if I do say so myself. Gah! I'll try to get them both, but if not just Jade-Streak. Her thieving days will soon be over."
