Scientists landing on Jupiter during its seventh season
BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP!
Adam awoke with a startle and hit his alarm clock to kill the noise. He arose from his lonely king sized bed and gently removed the covers from his body. His body was diaphoretic, leaving his bed sodden. He lifted his arm from his side and wiped drops of sweat from his forehead.
Water rushed down from the nozzle on the wall. ACDC plays in the background. He ponders of all the paperwork he has to go through for work. The water pressure decreases as Adam grabs a towel and steps out.
Steam rises creating a distorted figure in the mirror when he stands in front of it. He clenches another towel and wipes the steam away from the mirror, making it clearer and less anamorphic.
He got dressed frantically once he realized the time. He brushed his teeth more violently than usual, then clenched his cup of coffee and headed out the door with his briefcase in hand.
He was going eighty on a seventy on a highway. His eyes were shifting from the car clock to the road, but mainly on the road since he was a responsible driver.
He scanned his badge into the sensor and headed into the building. He advanced to his work station as quickly as possible. He then greeted his friend in the usual manner, and walked down to his office.
He logged onto his computer and on the home screen was an image of a storm trooper's helmet that had scrapes, burn marks, and blood splatters. As you can tell, he is a huge Star Wars fan. Already open on his browser is a website focussed on Pluto. It was describing how it was considered a dwarf planet. He copied and pasted an excerpt to a file on his computer named "Pluto". The excerpt read;
"A dwarf planet orbits the sun just like other planets, but it is smaller. A dwarf planet is so small it cannot clear other objects out of its path."
On his desk was a model of all of the planets, Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune, Uranus, and Pluto. Many people and scientists believe that Pluto is not considered a planet, but is considered as a 'dwarf planet'. Adam was one of the few scientists that considered Pluto as a planet, as well as one of his good friends, Dr. Walter Rawson.
Another object that lay upon Adam's desk was his name engraved in the plate. It read, "Dr. Adam Wilson Astrophysicist" in bold dark letters It gleamed gold in the sunlight. It was placed in the front of his desk, facing the seats that sat in front of Adam.
Newton's cradle rested beside the nameplate as well as a framed picture of his wife, Trinity, who had past due to stage four stomach cancer. She had long mercury brown hair with neptune blue eyes. It was their wedding photo. Petals surrounded them while they sealed their marriage with a kiss. Her dress was mermaid style with a blue tail that infuse to white as it moved up to her torso. His tux was the normal black and white, nothing special. But what made their wedding theirs, was that they wore safety goggles on their eyes since they were both astrophysicists.
There were two seats that sat facing the nameplate. The chairs were maroon red with a design that was busier than a chinese fire drill. That back rest was the shape of a semi circle that caved in to form the arm rest. They sat tilted to create an angle to where the two chairs were facing each other but also Adam.
Directly above the two chairs hung a fan with three blades the shape of the ones that belonged to a jet turbine. It was average in length and was on almost all of the time. It was painted black that had white flecks dotted along the edges of the blades.
A melanoid black rug settled upon the mahogany wood floor. The chairs rested on the rug, and so did the thousand dollar silver telescope that gazed over the sky near the spotless window. His office rested on the twentieth floor. His view from the window beautiful. There were trees and plants that cloaked the forest that were painted with more colors than the Holi Festival of Colors in India. There was a mountain in the center of the woods that was masked in the greenery.
