Conspiracy Theory in Doctor Who

I should say now that if you haven't watched up to the end of season four and before, specifically episodes including a paradox, it won't make much sense. I am not getting into detail on the plot.

In Father's Day, Season one, the Doctor takes Rose back in time to see her dad the day he died. However, she prevents him from being killed in the car crash that was meant to end his life. This is a bad thing because there is now a man who shouldn't be alive. Because of her actions, aliens called Reapers attack, threatening to erase history. 

The plot progresses until the infant Rose is shoved unto the older Rose, which increases the strength of the Paradox. This is a problem. However, all is resolved. The point I want to bring to mind I'd that touching her younger self created/strengthened a paradox. Remember this.

In the Pompeii episode of season four, Donna and the Doctor are forced to destroy Pompeii to save the earth. This is a difficult decision, and leaves the Doctor racked with guilt. Donna is upset as they prepare to leave via the Tardis, and demands that at least one person be saved. The doctor goes back and saves Caecilius and his family. In an epic moment, the Doctor reaches out to Caecilius and grabs his hand... 

Caecilius is played by Peter Capaldi, who later plays the Doctor...
