"Tonight is the night we have to go, Leslie..." my brother, Mark, whispered sadly. He stared at my parents, and I couldn't look at them. They were abusive, and me and him had kept our mouths shut for too long. We finally had a chance to leave the nightmare we had once lived in.

The next week was long, as we registered for a school nearly 50 miles away from the house we grew up in. The first day seemed too normal, as if I had gone to this highschool for all 4 years. But I hadn't. I was a Junior at a new school in a new city.

I sat in my Math teacher's class, and we were learning geometry and probability. It bored me, and I fell asleep with my head on my desk. Ten minutes later, I felt someone carrying me.I woke up, and found him staring at me. My heart beat faster. "Mr. Karrison? What is happening?" I asked. "You fell asleep, and the rest of the class was getting noisy, I just wanted you not to be bothered, so I carried you into my office, and put you on my couch so you could sleep," he explained. I thought it to be very weird, because most teachers I had would just tell me to wake up and pay attention. This was very, very different. I backed away slowly. He looked confused. "Are you alright? I meant my kindness to you as a friendly gesture, nothing more. I hope you know that," he said. I sighed in relief, hoping it was true.

For weeks after that, we remained teacher and student. Until the day I fell in love with him

(The song I would use for this story is "Beautiful Mystery" by Owl City. I couldn't post the video because it says the URL is invalid)
