"Come on ash! You're going to make me late," my mom screamed. She's got an interview today for a new job in Houston, Texas. We're moving there from Dallas which isn't that far away I guess. She's dropping me off at therapy before she goes which sucks, but she said I should try the therapist before we move so I can change if I want to, which I guess is fair. I didn't sleep last night. I stayed up watching YouNow replays, even though I've seen most of them. Some people at my school say I'm obsessed with YouNow but I mainly watch it when I'm bored or when I'm feeling sad. I feel sad a lot, I'm depressed and that's why I go to therapy. My mom blames herself and says it's because I'm from a broken home, she thinks it's her fault that my dad left but I don't think so. I'm not sure exactly why I'm depressed but it could have something to do with me being bullied as a kid.
We arrive at therapy and my mom hugs me before I step out of the car, I take a deep breath and walk in. My mom booked me a private therapy session that's one to one with my therapist, but you can also book group sessions. I sit in the waiting room and go on my phone. Suddenly a guy comes over and sits in the seat next to me, he has blonde hair and blue eyes and is wearing a beanie. I don't think much of it until he starts talking.
"Hey!" he says. I look up at him and smile, he's really cute.
"Hi," I reply.
"Are you new here? I haven't seen you around before," he asks. Then I realise.
"oh my god, you're Blake Gray," I whisper.
"That is my name..." He giggles.
Blake is one of my favourite YouNow stars. Every night I watch his replays. On days I'm sad that's all I do.
"Are you okay?" Blake asks after a long pause.
"I'm fine," I whisper in shock.
He pauses, "Actually, I do recognise you. Are you on YouNow? Instagram?"
"Both," I giggle.
"Ashley? Isn't it?" He questions.
"Yes, but call me Ash," I request, "I still can't believe you recognise me."
"How could anyone forget a pretty face like yours?" He smiles, looking into my eyes. Then a woman walks out of a room and calls my name. I stand up to walk towards her when Blake grabs my arm.
"Heres my number," he says shyly passing me a scrap of paper.
"Bye Blake," I say smiling.
"Bye Ash," he replies.
I walk into a small room and start talking to the therapist, she tells me her name is Molly and I explain my feelings to her.
"What about that boy?" Molly asks.
"Excuse me?" I say confused.
"The boy outside in the waiting room, how do you know him?" She continues.
"I actually just met him here, but he's kinda famous I guess so I knew who he was. It turns out he knew who I was too," I say beaming.
"He's a keeper," she says laughing.
"What do you mean Molly?" I ask.
Molly sighs, "Blake, he's one of my patients. If you come to one of the group meetings when you move you could get to see him more,"
Molly and I start talking and she seems really nice, much better than my old therapist. After a while it's time for me to leave so I say goodbye and leave. My mom is waiting outside for me.
"So how was it sweetie?" She questions. I tell her everything before asking about her interview, it turns out she got the job.
"We're moving here, for definite," she says.
"Yes! I'm so exited mom!" I squeal.
