Letting Her Go

Chapter 1

*Chases POV*

"Chase if we are gonna get there in time, we need to go now!" I heard my mothers screeching voice from down the velvet rugged stairs. We were going to Chicago from California. Me, my brothers Kent, Cail, and Liam, my sister Jamy, and my parents Caroline and Hunter were going to a family reunion.

"Mom! You just go ahead I'll catch up! I'll drive myself!" I yelled out my door and almost suddenly heard the front door open and bang against the wall.

I was wearing a black silk jacket, an off-white colored t-shirt, and a pair of dark blue jeans. The roar of car engines filled the mansion. There had to be at least 5 cars.

I grabbed my bags and ran outside to see that everyone of them were already at the highway which was a couple miles away from my house. I hopped in my Roll-Royce Ghost, noticing I needed some gas I was down to a quarter of a tank knowing that wouldn't get be straight to Chicago without getting gas so I went to the closest one. Which was 12 miles out from my house.

When I arrived I pulled in a gas tank station. I walked inside to pay after I filled it up. I walked inside grabbing a couple root beers and a bag of chips. Going to the front to pay. I put my things on the counter waiting for my price while staring down getting my wallet. When I didnt hear anything I kept my head down but using my eyes to look up.

I saw something I didn't expect. A beautiful teenage girl about my age was staring at me.

She had long dirty blonde hair that reached her waist. She wasn't wearing any makeup and she didn't need it. Her lips her bright pink, her dress was a knee length white dress with pink flowers around the belt area. She was staring like I was some thpe of prince, was I really that cute? Cause honestly I have never had a girlfriend, and I was still a virgin.

You could tell she was innocent too. Everytime I looked up she blushed, her cheeks would become a rosy pink color and she would look down at my items.

"How are you?" I asked trying to make small talk to pass the time.

"G-Good. How bout you?" The words finally came out her pretty little lips. I reached out my hand.

"I'm Chase. You are?" She looked straight at me. And I finally got to see her beautiful eyes. They were bright blue. Almost baby blue. She grabbed my hands with her small ones her nails were kept clean.

"I'm Alice." She said this almost to a whisper.

"Ahh a beautiful name for a beautiful girl." I regretted this almost immediately. She pulled her hands back and hid hear face. I scratched the back of my head. Thinking.

"Um would you like to um.." I froze. Which never happened that's how gorgeous she was.

"Would you like to go on a date with me?" I spit out.

"Umm I-I would like that." She said like she was never asked on a date before. But neither have I.
I gave her my phone for her to put her number in. I got it back and memorized it.

After I got it back,I noticed I had a text from my mother.

Chase where are you!! You lied to me you said you were right behind me!!

I thought to myself and changed my mind about going.

Um mom I'm not going. I changed my mind.

I looked back up to Alice and put my phone up. The total was $13.35. I gave her a twenty and told her to keep the rest.

"How bout tonight at 8?" She nodded her head. I waved good bye and left the shop. I trudged the bags to my car trunk and plopped into the driver's seat.

I started to think what we should do for our date. Movies? Restaurant? Ice cream? I couldn't think, what if I asked her to be my girlfriend and she said no. I would be totally embarrassed. I think I liked her. No I loved her. Or was that even possible?
