Kylie's POV:

" I can't believe we are actually going home!" I said with pure excitement.

" Yeah, Kylie you have been wanting to go back for a while now, haven't you? " My mom responded very curiously.

" A long time, I'm so excited." I exclaimed.

" You just want to see that certain person don't ya? " My mom said, with a mischievous smirk slowly rising onto her face.

" What certain person? " I asked, trying to sound confused because I knew exactly who she was talking about...

" Kylie, you know who I am talking about, don't you? " she said dead serious, while showing a little bit of concern.

" Mom, if it's who I think it is, then he probably doesn't remember me." And with that I walked off to go finish gathering up the boxes in my room to bring to my soon to be old living room.

As I was packing, I finally realized how happy I was going to be. But what stayed in the back of my mind was, what if no one remembers me? But most of all, what if Hayes don't remember me?

* ON THE PLANE TO NORTH CAROLINA*
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

I slowly and tiredly walk on the plane, because I mean why wouldn't you when it's 5 in the morning? My long brown hair threw up in a messy bun, black adidas sweats, retainer still in my mouth and my overly big Capital Clothing sweatshirt that swallows my arms makes me want to fall back to sleep. Hold up. Did I say my sweatshirt? I meant Hayes sweatshirt. Hayes gave me his sweatshirt when we were 13 right before I left for Kentucky because he kept claiming that I would forget him and he wanted me to have it for remembrance. Hopefully he don't expect this sweatshirt back anytime soon.
As I am about to get on the plane, I turn around and notice all the small places that I will most definitely not miss. But I guess this is it. So long Kentucky! Maybe I'll come visit every other year, note the sarcasm. Because I for sure no I'll be back sooner than planned.
When I find my seat, I'm so glad that I got a window seat, but you see, I never get the window seat because I always have a fight with my sister, Kerrigan. But I don't have that problem no more, because she is finally an adult and we don't have to pay for her plane tickets no more. But as I am just sitting at my seat I'm not realizing that I'll be there sooner than planned. Dad left earlier to get our new house ready. Hopefully, it's the same house or they it's even closer to Hayes. For all we know it's probably in another town. When we are about to take off , my mom and I talk about the most randomness things just to keep us occupied. When we are up in the air, I play my music, I hit shuffle and the song that I love came on. " Never Forget You" flows through my ears as I'm humming along. One thing that stays in the back of my mind is, I hope that Hayes never forgets me. Cheesy. I know.
As the song slowly comes to an end, I can feel myself slowly drifting to sleep. But who would think that I could sleep with all of this excitement building up.

I wake up to my mom shaking me,  saying that we have landed and we need to get off the plane. And all I could say is, "Hello North Carolina".
