Just Married

Chapter 2

"What are you doing here?" I ask.

"I'm the new Pediatric surgeon" he grinned.

"No that's not what I mean. I mean what are you doing here at MY hospital the one I've been working at for seven years. Why on Gods green earth would you possible come here to work and REQUEST me as your nurse. I am not doing this, I'll send another nurse in my place." I turn back around and walk straight out of the wing. I went and found Olivia in the ER and she gladly traded me for the day. The ER is the only one that will be able to keep my mind off of everything right now, I grabbed a board and head over to my first patient.

During lunch I went and grabbed a salad, fruit cup, and a bottle of water then went and sat down at a table. I got out my phone and texted my husband.

'I can't wait to get home and see you.'

'Bad day already?' he replied.

'Kind of, just been thinking about you. I love you.'

'I love you too, I hope your day gets better.'

Suddenly the familiar figure from earlier sat down across from me.

"Addison look, before you leave can I just talk to you for a minute? Is it possible for me to have a conversation with an old friend?"

I just gave him a blank stare "Okay fine. What would you like to talk about Crispin?" I asked.

"Well for started hey, how have you been?" he asked.

"I've been fine. Actually I've been great, my life is pretty perfect right now. What about you, how have you been the last ten years?"

"I've been okay" he answered.

"Any other questions ya got?" I asked.

"Uhmm, relationship status?" he asked.

"Not that it's any of your concern but married" I held up my hand to show him my wedding ring.

"Oh... kids?" he asked.

"Three."

"Names?"

"Clemet, Bentley, and Lucy."

"How's your mom?"

"She uhm, died last fall."

"Oh I'm sorry to hear that I had no idea" he said.

"Well of course you didn't, how would you? Haven't heard from you in years." I answered. "What about you, what's your relationship status?"

"Single" he answered.

"Oh, should have seen that coming. Kids?

"Nope" he said.

"Well that you know of, I'm sure you've got a couple out there somewhere. Oh hey what about your parents, how are they?" He went to answer but before he could I interrupted him. "Oh wait don't tell me, they are doing great. I know because I go over there and have dinner with them every weekend."

"Okay I get it, I'm sorry" he said.

"But I don't think you do. Tell me. What exactly possessed you to making a decision for me because you thought it was best for me then never talking to me again?"

"I just thought you deserved better."

"After everything you did to make me fall in love with you? I just don't understand.... But hey if it wasn't for you I wouldn't have three beautiful children and the best husband I could ask for." I stood up from the table and walked back to go check on my patients.

I finally got off work and went straight to Clemet's house before heading home. I knock on the door and Oscar answered then let me in.

"Is Clemet back yet?" I asked. Before he could answer Clemet walked out of the bathroom and came over to me.

"So.... Crispin's back in town" I informed as we sat down on the couch.

"What? Really? He's never in town, is he just visiting?" Clemet asked.

"Nope, he lives here. He actually works at the hospital."

"Seriously?" he asked shocked "Did you see him?"

"He requested me as his nurse this morning. I walked down their because they told me that the new pediatric surgeon requested me and as soon as I found out it was him I freaked out and switched places with another nurse." Then I told him the story about our conversation at lunch.

"Why is he back? Out of all the places he could go why on earth does he come back here?" he gasped "Do you think he knows?"

"Knows what?" Oscar asked curious "I want to know."

"You already know honey" Clemet said.

"I doubt it, the only people that know are you two and your parents" I said.

"But you know if he lives here he is going to end up finding out."

"He can find out on his own, but please don't tell him... I will eventually" I said.

When I got home I walked in the door and saw the boys sitting down at the dinner table and little Lucy in the highchair.

"Hi boys how was school?" I asked as I walked by messing up Bentleys hair even more.

"It was good, we made volcanoes today!" Clemet exclaimed. 

"Yeah it was awesome!" Bentley joined. 

"Well I'm glad you guys had fun." I said walking over to Lucy "And what about you miss Lucy? Did you have fun with Uncle Oscar today?" I asked in a baby voice, she just smiled great big and reached for my face. I picked her up out of the highchair and kissed all over her face "I missed you so much, yes I did, oh yes I did" I talked to her while walking into the kitchen.

"There's my handsome husband" I walked over to him as he was finishing up dinner and gave him a kiss. "How was your day?" I asked.

"It was pretty great, much better now that you are home though" he gave me another kiss. "How was yours?" he asked.

"Eh, I'll tell you about it later" I said as I walked back into the dinning room putting Lucy in her seat as he walked out putting dinner on the table.

We all sat around eating spaghetti and garlic bread while we all talked about our day.
