(Picture of Teagan as a wolf)
"Come on Teagan!" Mom shouts. I hurry into the bathroom and brush out my long, red hair. I tell everyone I dyed it, but its natural color is bright red, its what I was born with. In fact, there were a lot of things that made me different from the rest. It was probably why I had only one good friend.
I throw on an oversized t-shirt, and some black leggings, that go down to my ankles. I slip on a pair of white converse, and grab my phone.
I text my best friend, Riley, that were leaving, and walk out the door into the living room, and then to the front door.
My mom and I live in a small, two bedroom apartment in Tucson, Arizona. I enjoy the peace and quiet, that we used to not have about a year ago. When my dad lived here, him and mom would always fight. They fought about money, politics, me, as well as about our house that we used to live in.
When dad left, we couldn't afford to live in our house anymore, so we moved to an apartment complex, in Tucson. I kind of missed my dad, although he never really cared about me.
I hurry out the door, and down to the parking lot, where mom waits. "It's about time!" She exclaims. I roll my eyes and slide into the front seat of her black Camero. She backs up, and drives out of the parking lot.
I open the window, and the wind blows through my bright red hair, causing it to look like I just rolled out of bed. Then again, this was 90% true.
Ten minutes later, we pull up to a large house, with a car in the driveway. There was a suitcase next to the car, which must have been Stacey's. Stacey was my mom's best friend, who had a three year old daughter, Emily.
Apparently we were supposed to be taking care of her for the whole summer, which was two months.
Stacey comes hurrying out the door, holding a car seat, and a small pink suitcase. "Ellen! So good to see you!" Stacey shouts from the sidewalk. She hurries over to us, and setts down the car seat.
"Stacey!" Mom exclaims, hugging her. Stacey looks at me and smiles.
"How's Teagan doing?" She asks. I didn't see why she could've just asked me herself...
"She's great!" Isn't that right?" Mom says, elbowing me in the side. "Oh, yeah." I reply with no emotion in my voice.
"Well, I'll go get Emily." Stacey says, walking back to the house.
She comes out with a small child in her arms, who she brings over to us.
"Oh, I almost forgot!" Stacey exclaims. "Koda!" A boy, who looked about my age, appears in the doorway. He walks slowly over to where we're standing. I freeze as I look into his gray eyes. He looks into mine, and I see a flicker of red appear. He quickly looks away, and stares at the ground.
I blush with embarrassment, and look at the ground as well. "This is my son, Koda. He recently moved from California, originally living with his father. I was wondering if he could stay with you guys." She explains.
Mom's face lights up. "We would be delighted to have him!" She exclaims. I kind of just stand there, not knowing what to do.
Stacey helps mom buckle in the car seat, and then put Emily in. Koda goes back inside to grab his duffel. Both bags are put into the back. I hop into the front seat, waiting for everyone.
Koda rides in the back, next to his little sister. Mom starts the car, waves goodbye to Stacey, and drives off.
"So, how old are Koda?" Mom asks.
