It all started as a normal day. I was sitting on my bed with my best friend, Katey, as she drooped her beautifully curled blonde hair over my dog, Max's face. She was laughing about something she said, but I wasn't listening. Something was wrong... My twin brother, Chase, and his best friend, Oscar, weren't making any noise. This almost always meant trouble. I told Katey to shut up and went over to the wall that Chase and I share. I heard exactly what I expected: nothing. Now usually, this would be about the time that I would go next door to his room and get bombarded with water balloons, but honesty I didn't feel like yelling at him and being wet for our club meeting later that day, so I decided against it. Instead, I went over to my make-up bag to start getting ready. Just then, I saw a flash of light that was brighter than anything I could've ever imagined, and I blacked out.
