I just stared there at it for hours. My favourite picture. Her favourite picture. OUR favourite picture. Just in front of me was ripped in half. One half her and one half me. Her hair was perfect as always. I loved her honey blond hair that slowly turned into a nice crimson red. She knew it didn't suit her, and I always picked on her for it being dorky. But I did love it. She was adorable. My name is Chloe, and my shaggy brown hair was nothing compared to hers. My hazel eyes never compared to the ocean blue of hers. Her name was Bella. She was adorable in every way. She could barley talk to new people with out getting nervous. She was so shy. She was my opposite. But I guess that's why we pick people completely different from our selves... To fill in the gaps of our traits we missed out.

I had to stop looking at the photo... She ripped it up when we last met face to face. I check my phone and looked at our last messages. They read

"Is everything okay? I haven't seen you in weeks. I promise that you don't understand. Can we talk about it?"

"It's fine, I just need a break. Just a while to my self"

That was 2 months ago. I don't know if we are together or finished or anything... I need to take a break how about some music? The playlist "calm down" always seems to cheer me up or, calm me down. I stick in my headphones and listen to the first song. It was boats and birds by Gregory & The Hawk. While holding my phone I walk over to my bed beside my window and I look out of it to see the sky fading from light sapphire blue into the orange amber then mixing with the ruby red touching the dazzling brightness of the sun. Everything seems so much more beautiful with music. Like it blocks out all the horrible drones and leaves you with the words of the song and what you see. Your eyes take in every thing better and you realise things you wouldn't have seen if you were not concentrating like that. Like the little dog wagging his tail waiting for the boy to throw the ball or the old man sitting on a bench eating a sandwich and feeding the birds little crumbs from the bread. Or even just how the sky seemed to be both happy and sad as the colours blended. It was beautiful. My eyes are starting to tear up, what was wrong? The music, that's what, the song was happy but it brought up memories that made me emotionally drained.

I remember how we first met.  It was at the cinema. I went to see guardians of the galaxy. I don't remember if the movie was any good or not. But I remember her. When I first met her.

I went into the cinema with my ticket and my bucket of popcorn and I found my seat. Seeming to be too close to the corner. Everyone knows the middle seats are the best. But Bella made the seat pretty good. She came in and sat beside me. She was so pretty; she didn't put much effort in how she looked though. She obviously just wanted to just see the movie, no shopping, no eating, just here to see the movie then go home. But her plans changed. Bella turned on her phone to check the time and turned it off. Her screen saver was really cool art of different animes and mangas. I thought it would give me a reason to talk to this girl who I thought was beautiful.

"Hey! You like Manga?" I asked

"Em, yeah," she mumbled, "Do you?"

I smiled "yeah! Some are great! My name is Chloe, who are you?"

"I-I'm Bella" she stuttered

"Well Bella," I said, "it's nice to meet you. What else do you like?"

We began talking about different nerdy things realising how much we have in common. Before long the movie began. I couldn't focus on the movie, I was thinking of her. I began wondering if she looked at me like just a friend, or as a potential partner. I didn't know if she liked girls either. I don't remember much from the film. My mind was focused on her and how much she was enjoying the movie. It was cute. She was extremely engrossed in the film, she seemed to forget every one was around her including me, she didn't notice me looking at her so that was good.

The movie credits began to roll. I quickly ran out not to make any more conversation with Bella. But I told my self that as soon as she came out I would ask her to go to dinner some time. When she wasn't rushing to see a movie and not putting in any effort in how she looks. There were a lot of people, I couldn't see her, please don't say she's gone forever. I thought I would never see her again but behind me. Behind me I heard her little quiet voice.

"He-hey," Bella said coughing "are you... Busy later? Do you want to do anything?"

I blushed. I smiled. Bella, a girl obviously shy from the moment I met her, was asking me out. It was so sweet. It was so perfect, she beat me to it, and how could I turn her down.

"I'd love to!" I quickly answered

She looked shocked. As if she thought I wouldn't say yes or not want to see her again. I always wondered why people who you think don't want to see you. You decide to ask out. I guess people just wish for that one second of asking them out that they will say yes and give them a chance. The human race is sure a weird one.

"Really?" She wondered, "I don't think you understand... I mean like a-"

"Date?" I finished off her sentence.

She went quiet. She paused. She thought. She nodded.

"Yes, yes like a date." She mumbled "It could just be like friends if you want,"

I sighed with relief. "Wow" I exclaimed, "How lucky am I to have been sitting down next to the prettiest girl in the whole cinema and she's gay as well..."

She was shocked by that comment. Due to the fact that I just shouted I was gay in public. But it got her to laugh. And wow was her laugh cute! It was like a loud giggle that was just the right tone. Wow was she perfect. She brought out a little notebook from her pocket along with a pen and began to write. She then ripped out the piece of paper and handed it to me.

"Here's my number. Any time you're free or want to plan something just call! Or em, text," Bella said while her enthusiasm and excitement gradually decreased.

I grinned "I'll see you soon!" I declared I was so happy, I guess I took her excitement.

I've cherished that phone number ever since. From that moment on I knew we would be together for ages.

But all good things must come to an end. That's at least what the world and she has taught me. I'm crying a lot now. My eyes are all swollen and the tears just keep trickling down. I have to stop. Maybe that's enough music for one day...
