Away, My Lady

4 1 1

Four grey walls and four grey towers

This is how I spend my hours

That time steadily devours

As I fade away.

I sit here in my yellow room

As I feel my impending doom

Only this shadow to break the gloom

As sanity flits away.

Trapped nightly by this curse

Left with yarn, tasked to fill his purse

While guessing names, don't know what's worse

As life spins away.

Trapped here inside these walls

Though my sins were rather small

Saved by a cat or not at all

As he walks away.

If it seems unfair to you

Then its more than likely true

Ask yourself if you've paid your due

As equality stays away.
