No Promises

Chapter 1

Sapphires P.O.V.

  "Mom you have to go on another business trip again?!" I asked my mom while shoving a big piece of a waffle in my mouth.

  "Honey, I'm sorry. I just have to go, it's important. This will probably be one of the last business trips I have to go to." She said to me as she set down her mug of coffee.

"Ugh. How long is this one? Two weeks?" I asked her with a weird look.

  "No. Two months." She said with a frown on her face.

"What?!?!" I shout as my jaw drops and I put my hands over my mouth. "That is a long freak'n time! I don't want to stay here alone all that time!" I say shoving another piece of waffle in my mouth and looking down at my plate.

  "I know honey, I'm sorry." My mom told me.  "Hey" she paused "you can get an apartment to stay in for two months!" She suggested to me excitedly.

  "I guess." I shrugged.

  "Or you can ask if u could stay at a friends for two months." My mom said taking a sip of her coffee.

  "Well two months is a long time.  Also I don't know if I can. Celeste is too busy with her mom and stepdad getting married this month,  Adrien's grandfather is sick and in the hospital and she doesn't have time for anything but school, and Kaelyn has a full house. Can't I just come with you?" I asked giving her a small smile tilting my head sideways a little bit.

"I would but I can't. You have school to attend and I'm not switching you schools." My mom told me getting a little irritated.

"Ugh. Fine, I'm going to look online for an apartment." I said getting up from my chair. I walked to my room and pounced on my big bed. I leaned over and grabbed my apple laptop off of my night stand. I turned it on and went to google and looked for apartments. I found one in a neighbor hood. I read what it said on the website out loud to myself. "5590, Shorewood Drive." Wow that apartment looks really nice from the outside. And it's a three story apartment. I think I'm gonna call that place.

I grabbed my iPhone 6 and dialed the number while reading it off of the website. It was ringing.

"Hello? I asked the person on the phone. "Hi!" A deep voice said through the phone.

"Hi! I would like to maybe stay in this apartment for a couple of months. It's the one in Shorewood, the address is 5590."

"Oh, okay. Could I give you a tour tomorrow?" He asked me. "Oh yeah that would be great!" "Yeah, and $500 a month." He told me. "Alrighty! See you tomorrow! Bye" I told him excitedly with a grin on my face.

"Bye!"

I hung up the phone and put it by my side. I shut my laptop and got off the bed. I headed back to the kitchen, where my mom is.

"So mom good news, I'm going to look at an apartment tomorrow." I told her while putting my hands on the table.

"That is great! I'm leaving four days so hopefully you will be able to move in!" She told me giving me a hug. I walked back to my room and watched some YouTube.

I went through the lunch line and got some salad. I walked away from the salad bar and sat down next to Celeste and Adrien.

"So, Sapphire anything new lately?" Adrien asked shoving a mouth full of yogurt into her mouth.

"Well" I began "my mom is going on another business trip, and this time it's not just a week, it's two months! So I figured I can't spend two whole months at a friends house. You guys are all busy, so today I'm looking at an apartment to stay in." I explained to Celeste and Adrien and their eyes widened.

"Dude! You could have stayed with me!" Adrien told me while gripping my shoulder lightly.

"Yeah but your grandpa!" I told her with a frown. She started to frown. "Oh yeah, sorry." She told me.

"No, Adrien, no need to be sorry! I'm sorry about your grandpa." I told her while letting her into my arms, giving her a big hug. Tears started to well up in her eyes. But I told her it will be okay.

"I'm sorry too, Adrien!" Celeste told Adrien while giving her a big hug also. Once Adrien stopped crying we all talked about the apartment that I'm probably moving into.

"Oh shit!" I said under my breath.

"What?!" Celeste and Adrien asked me at the same exact time.

"I'm leaking!" I whisper shouted to them. I got up and they started to follow. I rushed to my locker and slammed it open. "Fuck! I don't have any pads!" I shouted.

"Here!" Celeste handed me a pad from her locker and I ran into the ladies room. They waited for me outside the bathroom.

"Ahh. Thanks Celeste. My underwear is stained now though, damn." I said stressed out. We walked back to the lunch room and finished our lunch.

I wrote down the math problem that Mrs. Douden wrote on the board. I felt somebody tap on my shoulder. I turned around and it was Issac. (He is just a kid in my math class.)

"Hey." He asked me what the answer to a problem was. "No. Go ask the teacher for help." I told him turning around in my seat.

"But I don't want to ask the teacher for help!" He whined. "Well too bad. Try to figure it out then. Sorry." I said to him turning around in my seat once again!

I'm so excited! I can't wait to see the apartment later! I thought to myself...
