Abarai Renji X Reader

You were walking down the 6th squad barracks hallway while grumbling. "Why is it that I have to marry a guy I don't even know?!" You grumbled to yourself. You sighed .

Since a few years ago, you were adopted by the Kuchiki family. You didn't join Byakuya and Rukia . Instead, you decided to live in the mansion the Kuchiki family owned. But one day, Kuchiki Byakuya thought that it was time for you to get married. He said that the marriage has been already decided, and you're going to marry the man they chose for you, whether you like it or not.

You thought that he was just sad about losing his wife and is letting his frustration out on you. Today was your wedding, and Byakuya allowed you to see your husband if you came early. You wanted to spend as much with him as possible, to know him better. Which is why you came at 4 AM. In your defence, Byakuya never specifies 'early'. And he's a very strict man.

"How big is this place?! I can't even know the way I came from!" You continued walking and looking around, hoping to see someone who can help you.

After a few while, you bumped into someone. You fell to the ground due to his chest being as hard as a rock. "Ouch~" You groaned while rubbing your.. butt in pain.

"Hey, are you alright?" The person whom you bumped into asked. You looked up annoyed. "Watch where you're-!.. Go.. ing." The man whom you bumped into was reaching out his hand to help you. You took it and stood up, all the while staring at his  tattooed face. "I don't think I've ever seen you around here before. Can I know your name?" He asked as gently as possible. You felt your face grow red. "My name is.. (Y/N).. you?" You asked the man in a mumble, your face still red. He smiled happily. 

"I'm Abarai Renji! You can just call me Renji though." You stared at him for a while. "Is something wrong?" You felt your face grow red again, and turned away. "N-no! It's nothing!" You took a deep breath then turned around to face him again. "Can you please show me where Kuchiki Byakuya's room is?" You asked, your face not red anymore. You're getting married today to a gentleman! You can't just ogle a ruffian!

Renji started thinking for a while and you just stood there, waiting. "Well.." He finally said. "..he's kinda busy with marriage plans or something like that." This time, it was his face's turn to grow red. "Oh! Actually, I am the bride. I wanted to come here early so I could meet my soon to be husband." Even though You were smiling from the outside, you were frowning from the inside. "Why can't I have a man like Renji? Wild and cool, not boring and lame. He looks so dependable and brave too." You thought to yourself. You've always loved adventures more than tea parties.

When you haven't received an answer, you looked up. Renji was shocked. "You're.." He didn't finish. "What?" You asked while tilting your head to the side. Renji blushed. "A.. actually.. I.. am your soon-to-be husband." He said in a shaky voice. "Oh dear lord."  You thought. "My wish actually came true."

You and Renji were walking towards Byakuya's room, which you have missed while walking around, in an awkward silence. So, you decided to break the silence, but you didn't have anything to say. "How.. is your life going?" "Idiot idiot idiot ! Of course he's fine! Look at how hot he looks! No one can look this good and have a bad time!"  You blushed at your own thoughts. Yuroichi has been seeing you a lot lately, so you thought that it might be the reason. "It's pretty cool.. I guess." Renji said while turning away. You giggled. "You sure get embarrassed easily." You said jokingly. "Says the girl who blushed the moment she saw my face!" Renji said back. The whole way, you two just continued talking about some random stuff and laughing.

*knock knock*

"Who is it?" You heard Byakuya'a voice from inside the room. "I-it's me, (Y/N)." You waited a few seconds, and there was a few thuds coming from inside.

"Come in." Byakuya answered after a while. You and Renji entered the room.

"I see you two have already met." He said in his usual cold tone. You felt yourself grow angry again.

"Why are you so calm about it?! You're forcing me to do what I don't wanna do ya know! It's not fair!" You screamed at your brother's face. Byakuya just looked at you with his blank gaze. "It is for the sake of the Kuchiki family. My child was supposed to take care of the family after my death, but since my wife is gone and Rukia is too young, I chose you." He explained. "I have chose my lieutenant as your husband. He is dependable and would do anything for the Kuchiki family. And, as much as I can remember, he suits your taste ." You felt yourself blush at his last comment.

 Renji just sat there in silence. You grew even angrier. "Well, maybe if you take better care of what you have, they won't go and leave you alone! You're always so cold ! And you never care about me or my feelings! If my parents didn't have a strong relationship with you, I'd be wandering in the streets by now! And it'd be much better than living with you! I can't take you being my brother! I HATE YOU!" You started panting heavily, not realizing what you just said .

When you came back to your senses, you looked up at Byakuya .

He was shocked.

You just stared at him. Renji stared at him too.

You two started giggling, and the giggling turned into chuckles.

After a while, the chuckles turned into laughter.

"I-I'm sorry, Taichou! It's just that your expression is so funny!" "I never thought I would live until the day you looked this funny, big brother!" You two just kept on laughing at Byakuya. He tried to tell you to be quiet and set down, but you two were too busy.

It had been a long day, and you have finally finished your wedding. Abarai Renji was a great person, though he refused to kiss you, so you skipped that part. You were to live with Renji in his ROOM from that day on. Byakuya was just seeking revenge on you and Renji, you thought.

You were standing on the bridge and looking at the lake while smiling. You thought that Byakuya had chosen some kind of wealthy animal. But the man he chose for you was far away from your expectations. "He's exactly like the man I dreamed to have." You thought to yourself as you stared at the beautiful lake.

"You'll catch a cold if you stay here any longer, (Y/N)." You turned your head to see Renji standing there with a small blanket. He put it around your shoulder and you held it close to your body. "Thanks Renji." You said with a smile. He blushed and turned his face away. You pouted. "Why do you always turn your face away from me, geez." He looked at you from the corners of his eyes. "(Y-Y/N) " you turned towards him  as he called your name only to be met with his lips on yours.

You felt your face go red and your heart was beating a mile a second. Your grip on the rails of the bridge tightened, and the blanket slid off your shoulders. Soon enough, you started to close your eyes. You two stayed like that for a while.

After a few seconds, Renji pulled away first. "I.. I hope it made you happy." He murmured, turning his face away again. You giggled. "Come on, let's go." You told him as you lead the way towards your shared room. He followed you like the loyal puppy he is, and you two talked and laughed happily until you reached Renji's room, where he held you close to his chest and whispered his love for you. You two fell asleep in each other's arms, his heartbeat lulling you to sleep.
