It Started With A Date

Start from the beginning

"Just going out for a run, when is the date?"

"6:00 we're going for a movie and dinner."

"Ok, will be back at five ish I guess."

"Be careful."

"I will." I walk towards a chest of drawers and take out a luminous band. I snap it round my wrist. I unlock the front door and step out, feeling the wind on my face. I take a deep breath and turn around and close the door. I walk to the end of the driveway and start to run. I switch on my iPod and it starts playing John Newman's Love Me Again. Now, you may be thinking, " I didn't realize she did exercise. " well, it was the only thing to keep my mind off things when my parents were struggling. That along with science. I go into this mode where everything is a blur except the pavement. I feel the hard concrete below me, my trainers bouncing off the pavement whenever I took a stride. I usually go around my neighbourhood, sometimes a little out of it. I check my watch. 4:00. I'll need to head back now. I take a different route back. As I am traveling, I see two very good looking lads playing footy in their front garden. Wow. And I really mean. Wow. One has blonde hair and amazingly blue eyes, the other has brown hair and, it looks like, almost grey eyes from here. I might be wrong. I continue to run with my head down, but I always keep the corner of my eye on the boys. As I am running past them they stop. YES! I have never had two boys stop and stare. I become confident and lift my head up. I think I see the blonde one saying,

"She's fit."

"I know right." I can't help but smile; I arrive back at my house at 4:55. I turn off my music and take my trainers off. I hear running water coming from upstairs. I walk up the stair to see my mum in a towel.

"Was running ok?" She asks me.

"Yep. Saw two cute guys staring at me."

"Good." I love her. I smile and go into my bedroom. I close the curtains and take off my sweaty clothes. I throw them in the washing basket. I make the risky trip to the bathroom. I turn on the hot water. I step in and let the warm water flow down my body. It's almost as if the water is washing away all my stress. I pick up the bottle containing shampoo and I squirt some into the palm of my hand. I gently rub the shampoo into my hair.

-----5:12------

I step out of the shower and grab a towel. The rough material comes into contact with my skin as I put it around my damp body. (You must have a sexy image in your mind right now...) I grab a slightly smaller towel and wrap that one around my head, drying my hair. I walk back into my bedroom and remove the towel from my hair. I take out my hair dryer and begin to lightly hair dry it. I stop after five minutes. I walk over to my cupboard and take out my dress. I turn around to see Leeroy standing there. I gently stroke his head and continue dressing.

----5:55----

I finish applying light makeup and walk out my room. I see my mum standing at the door, waiting nervously.

"Are you ok?"

"Nervous." She replies.

"Why?"

"I don't know. I guess your coming with me so that could be it."

"Ok." That made no sense. Oh well. I walk to the kitchen and pour some milk and food into Leeroys' bowl. I hear a knock on the door. I quickly dash to the mirror and slightly fix my brown hair. I then arrive at the door. I see Harvey there, greeting my mum with two bodies behind him. I couldn't see their faces.

"Nice to see you Sara." Harvey greets me. I shake his hand politely. "I would like you to meet..." HOLD UP. I hate it when adults say, 'I would like you to meet...' They are basically forcing you to talk to a complete stranger. "... My two sons, Niall and Louis." He steps back to reveal a sight that wasn't expected. It's the two guys I saw whilst running. They were in a formal suit type thing, with their hair both in quiffs.I think my mouth was hanging open slightly, I mean, the brothers mouths were slightly aghast too.
