Malefica kept running, her cloak floated in the wind as she continued running through the forest. Clutching onto her wand and keeping her pentagram firmly in her hand. Malefica was a witch that had been running her entire life who seeked revenge for all that had wronged her. "Don't lose her!" Several voices shouted in the distance, they were the kings guards. They were after Malefica. Why may you ask. Well it is quite simple for two main reasons.
Number one. She was the last witch in the kingdom as the king was a witch hunter and wanted this witch dead specifically. Malefica killed the queen at the small age of 7. Quite surprisingly she got away with the murder and every witch went on trial after the death of the queen and one by the witches were burned, hung and stabbed by all the guards and the king. But he let Malefica go as she was just a child and didn't suspect her at all. He loved children and never understood Malefica at all. She was just a simple child that needed a family. No one loved her. Number two, she resorted to taking victims hearts and crushing them. It was a drug. Her drug! There was only one heart she desired most and that was Prince Anguis' heart. King Luctus had to protect his son. Killing Malefica would be the only way.
She continued and saw the light out of the dark forest and headed right for that. She was heading for safety, where she would finally be free from being chased for the rest of her life over one silly murder and desire for crushing hearts. Ten years she had been running and finally she can be free, all she needed to do was head towards the light. When she is free she can do it all she pleases. Malefica was a mess. A danger to the world and herself. She needed to be stopped.
"Halt!" Shouted a gruff voice. Malefica didn't dare to turn around behind her, if she did she'd be caught and killed that instant. She couldn't let a puny little guard that thought could over power the last witch in the kingdom kill her. She sprinted towards the sunlight that guided her the way to freedom.
"Freedom is sweet" She whispered with her soft demonic cackle. She loved the idea of being the most feared person in all the land, She made men cower and women scream in fear. Malefica was only seventeen years old and was ready for her freedom and new life. Just as she stepped into the light of freedom her cloak pulled her back. She must have caught it on a log or tree stump again. That could easily be sorted.
She tried to continue running but she still couldn't move. She turned and saw a guard holding the end of her cloak chuckling at her. "You can't run now witch." He said with his gruff voice trying not be fearful of Maleica. She struggled as much as she could to try and escape. Out of the trees guards crept out with swords pointing in her direction. She had no where left to run. The guard holding her cloak pulled her in and she fell into his arms screaming. He clasped his dirty, sweaty hand on her mouth to silence her screams. "Bound her hands" He ordered. One nervous guard cowered forward and bounded her hands making sure that all the knots were tight so she couldn't escape. Malefica continued to struggle, the guard pulled her hair jolting her head back as her muffled screams seeped through the guards hands. "The king is really looking forward to seeing you once again witch, as well as his son. Watching you burn as you scream for mercy!" He took his hand away almost trusting the witch not to scream. But she didn't scream. She kept quiet.
Outside of the forest there was a horse and cart. But not what a royal would travel in. This cart had a cage on the back. One that the hunted animals that were captured we brought into the kingdom with. The smell of their rotting bodies and the sight of blood stains up the bars and on the base of the cage. Maleica tried to resit going in, she tried to push against the guards forceful pushes. They picked her up and threw her inside like the hunted animals. Maleica knew she was going to die now, she had nothing to live for any more. She desired love from a Mother and Father, but knew she couldn't have that. She curled up into a small ball in the corner of the cage as she was escorted to the kingdom, her silent sobbing wouldn't help her now.
