Someone will ask me why I am afraid of falling
I will tell them I'm not afraid of actually falling
Im scared that no one will be there to watch me fall
But you know what
screw that
This aint one of those poems
This is a poem to the girls that wish they could fall faster
The girls that arent scared of hitting the ground
The girls that arent afraid of getting a lil dirty
Most girls when I was younger were waiting for their Prince Charming
In my opinion he was taking to long
I started to realize that my mom wasnt telling me the truth
Mom, not every girl dreams of being a lil princess
I'm not Ariel, mermaid turned human
I'm not Jasmine, a princess from faraway places getting swept up by magic carpets
I'm more like Meredith, (Brave) hoping to go great distances to find myself
I'm more like Cinderella (without the dances and dresses) but someone who goes against what she's told to follow her dreams
Or like Belle, dating a "monster" in the eyes of the people but not caring because that so called monster was a King in her eyes
I'm tired of little girls believing
That they cant be firefighters
That They have to subject to being a ballerina
To the girls that want to be in the Army
Knowing that their family sees her as a doctor
To the girls that believe that they dont have to subject to "acting like a girl"
To please her other little wanna be princesses in the world
I believe those girls need to know that of course not all girls wish to be a princess
That some girls want to go beyond the castle walls
