The Secrets of Wyndlight Forest

The Beginning

   Long ago the world was very different, Elves and other mythical creatures roamed freely. That all changed when the human race took over and forced the other races into hiding. Now it is the year X978 and a 16 year old girl by the name of Maria Clare is running to school, she is late. On her way to school she has to pass the Wyndlight forest. Since she was young she lived with her grandparents never knowing her parents. Her grandparents always warn her to stay out of Wyndlight forest because it is dangerous, but Maria goes exploring there whenever she has the chance. When she makes it to school it is already lunch time. She goes and sits at her usual lunch table with her few friends. "Why are you so late today Maria?" asks Ian. "My alarm didn't go off at the right time, so I ended up being late." Replied Maria. "Why didn't your grandparents wake you up?" asks Haruka. "My grandparents usually sleep in until noon or later." says Maria. "Oh, wow they sleep in really late." says Shawn. "Yeah I know, but they need their sleep." says Maria. "So Maria wanna come over to my house today and do some homework and maybe some board games just the two of us." asks Shawn. "No she doesn't, we all know you're the biggest flirt in this school so you'll probably do something naughty!" says Ian. "Aw come on Ian you're no fun." says a dejected Shawn. "He-he boys don't you agree there always doing silly and weird things." says Haruka. "Yeah I agree." says Maria. "Hey no fair!" says Ian and Shawn. "I'm not like Shawn here." says Ian. Little did Maria know that this friendly banter would not last long. "Hey, why don't you Haruka and I go to "Wyndlight forest together later this evening?" asks Ian. "Sure I was planning to go there later anyway. says Maria "where do you want to meet?" "We can meet after school at the front doors if your not busy." says Ian. "Ok, sure that sounds great." says Maria. "Sorry, I can't go, I have work to do at home." says Shawn.
